Where I'm from used to be safe to walk with headphones. Now with homeless people, drugies, and crazies.... well now it's practically impossible to feel any grain of safety. It doesn't matter if it's day or night; you gotta have your sight and hearing heightened if you want to be safe.
It's not very safe to walk here, there's often nowhere to go if a car comes, plus there's wild packs of dogs. I walk on my road only, it's a dead end so cars don't go very fast and nobody who doesn't live on this road doesn't usually come down here but it's still very sketchy. People here are also very trigger-happy, if I wasn't a white lady I'm sure I would've been at least threatened with being shot by now. Actually, I did get retroactively threatened before.
I still do walk every day though, I just stay aware and carry a weapon. And sometimes, I carry dog treats. The local dogs almost ripped my pants off once when I pet them, lol. They got too excited. I had to hit them and yell to get them away.
I am disabled i nevrr go out. I can hardly walk. In too much pain but mudt be nice to be able to walk without agony.
There are some places I’ll never walk, like the deep woods behind the old schoolyard but most other places I’m fine with at any time of the day
So do I. I prefer to go for walks and listen to music at night because then there's very little chance of running into people.
Not usually but I wouldn't walk at night with headphones on. I'd rather be aware of my surroundings.
So Maybe yeah I'm a little spooked lol
Not in the daytime, unless its a very deserted area. I wouldnt wear headphones walking alone in a deserted area.
no i like to walk late at night but i always bring my dog and he's pretty protective so i'm not worried
I only go for walks alone at night in a nearby neighborhood at 2-4 AM. Usually without music. It's very peaceful.
Truthfully it’s getting to where I look around all the time. I live in a pretty nice area but things are even happening around here in broad daylight. And I never listen to music and I always take my phone just in case.
No & i'm a bit ashamed to admit this (because it shows how stupid I used to be) but in my late teens & early 20's I used to walk around bad neighborhoods & hang around my drug dealing family members hoping something would happen so I could fight. I don't know if it was teenage hormones or young man testosterone, but as I got older I figured it would be safer to take up martial arts & fight in tournaments/prize fights instead. At least that way i'd get paid to get my ass beat.
That's pretty high on the dumb meter, I have to admit. Sakagami Tomoyo pulled it off well enough, but even then it was just a bad way of coping with her emotional turmoil and stress. At least you both made it out in one piece and matured. That's important. Are you in agreement?
"but even then it was just a bad way of coping with her emotional turmoil and stress."
I did it because i'm a sadist who enjoys violence but I can't bring myself to hurt someone for no reason.

Yes, looking back i'm actually surprised the worst that happened to me was getting jumped a few times & all that came out of that was 5 chipped teeth & braking my nose a couple times.
Not in my neighborhood. Lol. If I didn’t have a baby I would, but I know I look like easy prey.
It depends where it is. Through a neighborhood it could be a dog attack. I have hand issues in my left hand from a dog attack when I was jogging once. I had headphones in and got bit in the ass. Turned around and instinctively punched the dog in the face but my hand landed on its tooth, like it bit my hand as i punched it, and its tooth went straight to the bone and damaged a ligament. I was lucky to get away into the bed of a parked truck. Now I carry pepper spray in my hand when i jog and never wear two headphones only one.
