You can't wait for inspiration to hit you, you need to chase it with a sledgehammer.

Just draw. Draw people outside, draw what you see. Just keep your hands working. If you don't have some great idea do a ton of observational drawings.

This could take a long time, but do this: spend some time on the internet looking at ideas and other artists' work. Then go out into the world, buy some pot and start drawing. Works every time.

Draw something like fanart. It's not really being creative, but it gives you something to draw.

Why not just ask people what to draw? That is what most artists do. "Hey would you like a picture? What would you like me to draw"? in fact you can even sell it to them after.

What is this long thing? I need to know before I suggest something.

what material is closest at hand? choose one wet and 1 dry media (paint and charcoal? coffee and pen?)
draw with the dry media. pointy mood? draw points! wavy mood? draw squiggles! ordered mood? draw boxes or dashes or something! then add wet media. colour in the lines or get it everywhere! use your fingers as brushes! print with things. add more dry media lines points etc.. sketch over the top or cut out and collage

I like drawing when I'm in a feel-good mood, usually after I have fun with friends or watch a great movie.

as an art student who often has the same problems as you, just pick uo you pencil right?, now get some paper, now scribble... don't stop till sun down... hey why stop there?? sleep is for lusers anyway.

ok let me be serious, i wouldn't serch the internet for ideas because the you will never create something original. buy your self a sketch pad an sketch away eventualy you will get some thing. also you might start with solething that dosen't sound like a good idea but if you keep at it it will evolve.

Maybe u could look at other objects and c if they spark any ideas. Look at them and try to think of something it either reminds u of or you associate/connect with it is what Im thinking.

Find something new to do that's outside of your comfort zone, you could get some unexpected inspiration.

Take a drug. Art will flow out of you like a busted fire hydrant.

Try performance art, that's always good for a laugh.

Look up other people's work. You could very well come across a new subject that you've never heard of/thought about before and become interested in it.

    That's how I overcame artist's block.

I guess it depends on what you're drawing for; if it's a spontaneous piece of work you're doing I usually find that inspiration is what drives me past my art block...I browse through pictures by my favorite artists or look at really pretty images of nature to work up the motivation to draw
as for ideas, I think concept art can be very inspiring. You should try going out of your comfort zone and explore things you haven't really tried out if that kind of thing piques your interest. Good luck getting past that art block!
