As an anglo-saxon, am i a german?
I was literally told by someone that I'm German because I'm an Anglo-Saxon. I know of the German/Danish origins of the Anglo-Saxons. Am I pretty much a German?

No. The term used for Anglo-Saxons is "Germanic", not "German". German refers to people from the country of Germany, while Germanic refers to people who are descendant from Germans. Technically, Germans are also Germanic.
Yes you are. I'm from the UK as well and essentially you came from Germany at the collapse of the Roman Empire if you're Anglo-Saxon, but you could be Celtic in which case you're not. It's kind of hard to tell in the UK what your specific make up is without a test because not only do we have Anglo-Saxons, but we have the Jutes the vikings and the celts as well.
You are British. You should be proud. Going that far back into the past is ridiculous. If we think in that way, we are all Africans since humans first appeared there. So we must be descendents of them.
That person is misinformed. The Anglo-Saxons are a mix of Germanic peoples that invaded England. They're cousins to thr Germans who are a mix of several different Germanic tribes.
