As the genre goes, is this band bad?

I'm a girl and I listen to some rock music, as well as pop but not the awful top 40 sfuff. One group I like is the Killers, but I've never met anyone else who listens to them. I've heard a couple of their songs on the radio so I know they're not completly unknown. I'm wondering as rock or whatever sub genre they are goes, are they a bad band? I realise some people don't like any rock, if you are that please don't vote because no offense but that's not who I'm looking for. Also I KNOW music is subjective, I'm curious about overall opinions not looking for validation.

    They're definitely not bad. Good but not great. When did you discover them or start listening? I first heard them in ~2005 and remember spamming their songs on repeat those days. I've had their entire discography in my music library for years now, but barring 2-4 songs I don't find any of their stuff timeless. I mean, it's a band I might revisit occasionally but definitely not regularly. In other words, I will appreciate if any of their songs (except one which I'm 100% tired of) gets played on shuffle, but almost never manually or intentionally decide to play some of their stuff.

    I like their first album,

    And Mr bright side is the number one go to party song

    Where are you from because in the UK the killers are quite well known

        I always assumed they were English as well when they first came out. I think they're more popular in the UK and Ireland than in America, probably because they're more indy than rock. I thought the same ab

        Yeah i did put them in the same category as something like the libertines ( but not quite as good )

    It depends who you ask. I definitely think the killers are whiny, commercial pop-rock and belong with the likes of Maroon 5. To others, maybe they're one of the best bands of the 00's... I think the general opinion is that they're pretty good, and there's no harm in admitting to being a fan.
    As the genre goes, I would even say they are very good.

    I do like the song "Jenny was friend of Mine".

    Yeah I remember listening to them 6 or 7 years ago but I dont care for that type of music anymore, don't get me wrong, they are a great band and I believe they would be considered a pop rock band. Rock more than anything else.
