Hey guys. Just a generic post I'd like thoughts on that many can benefit from.
What are at home jobs you can do with just a computer maybe even with a landline as well. Something that doesnt require a college degree. Something anyone can get and be trained in like a data entry position.
I know I want one of those jobs and an curious as to what's all out there. Theres alot of scams when you Google it.
On line jobs are shady and if they ask you for a one time fee for a set up that is a " Red Flag " stay far away from them .
There is an old saying if it's too good to be true then it probably is .
If you are good with computers then go to places like a hairdresser and see if they are willing to pay you to make a website for them .
Small companies are so busy they don't have time or know how to start up a website .
If you're into art then you could try to learn to do art on a computer and maybe sell commissions or something.
Government agencies like centrelink / human services would need more people employed on phones to handle the back log of people needing assistance. Not sure what the us version of welfare is called?
I herd from the grapevine that supermarkets will have to close soon and be delivery only, that would be lots more jobs needed to drive the trucks and deliver the food door to door.
Man I hope the internet don't go down because then we are fucked.
I'm in the UK, and the internet is still working fine in spite of all the real-world upheaval and general low-level chaos. From what I've read, the same is the case in Europe generally.
The only thing that's changed for us (so far) is that streaming providers like Netflix, YouTube and Amazon have dropped their High Definition services in order to preserve bandwidth because the increase in the number of people working from home and the closure of schools has significantly increased network traffic. Mobile phone networks have also been under some strain and a couple of providers have had short-term network issues, but generally there have been no serious problems.
What we're all going through is a severe test of all sorts of complicated systems we usually take for granted - healthcare, food-supply and the underlying data-transmission and communication networks. I have no idea how robust those systems are in Australia, but I'm sure people will be doing their best to keep things up and running smoothly. My understanding is that the US broadband network is very good in urban areas, but it's pretty crap in lots of parts of the huge middle bit of the country.
