To be honest, I don't think there is any correct answer to this. I don't think 65 and below are old, that's actually kind of young to me. Maybe 75 and older, yes, that's considered old to me.
You're old when all you do is sit on the couch watching TV all day, making excuses not to get up because of your aches and pains.
To any average (or above or below average) person, 50 is old. My mom, who is 60 will never be old. She could be 85 (she wont live that long) and still wouldnt be old to me...
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER.
I hit 60 a couple of years ago, and I assume people who are under 40 or so look at me and think I'm old.
But I don't really feel old. I'm in good health, my brain still works pretty well, and there's nothing I want to do that I can't because of my age.
I think most people's definition of "old age" advances as they themselves get older. When you're ten, everyone over twenty is old. When you're twenty, people over forty look pretty old. And so on.
At the moment, I suppose I consider eighty old, but that may well change as I get nearer that milestone.
I heard recently that a third of the babies born in Britain this year will probably live to see a hundred candles on their birthday cake. That sort of change will also affect what people consider "old".
80+
Average death age reported is in the 80's, so you'll expected to have about a few more years or so once you hit 80. Probably at this age you'll start feel yourself getting weaker and sleeping more. Makes me sad, because my grandparents are early to mid 80's at the moment, hope they make it to 90's.
I don't know about the sleeping more part, I always heard from my grandmother that the older she got the harder it became for her to get any sleep, so she would spend most of her time doing housework and chores even when she didn't need to, just to have something to do. Also she started to worry a lot more, about everything.
It really depends on the person. My grandmother is 75 and on a purely numerical basis elderly by any standard. That said she is vibrant, glamorous, flirtatious, and looks a good 20 years younger than her age. I know she is old but most of the time that's the last thing I would associate with her.
Age is a number and all in your head. I'm 71 and don't consider myself old.
when your dick stops working you are old. for a woman it the last menstrual cycle . at least i have some criteria to apply . im sure i piss off the ladies here that think they are hot 18 year olds after their eggs dry up.
When you stop racing the train going along side the road you are driving on... If you stop racing the train, it's a sign your life is over.
Some people are old at 20, others still young at 70. I suppose I would consider someone over 90 as old.
It's all about how well you take care of yourself and how young you are at heart.
Yes, sure. But I think we all have an age we would consider to be old. I, for example, thought the age of 50 is when you're officially old.
