Back to chris rock at the oscars

I do not see how the joke was so offensive. I myself didn't know about her alopecia.

Had she shaved her head for styling reasons it wouldn't have been a worse joke than the one in 2016 (when he questioned her talent, which is way more insulting)

Will laughed, Jada rolled her eyes.

WTF happened in between?

FWIW I have bills to pay, that's my vote.

Team Chris 10
Team Will 3
Team Jada 0
Team WHAT DO I CARE? I HAVE BILLS TO PAY! 10
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

She did shave her head for styling reasons. She is a multimillionaire. She could afford the best wig in the world. She likes looking like that.

Yes, I very much agree with you! She's a narcissistic attention whore, and he's crazy too.

We need a flag for this issue. How is anybody supposed to virtue signal without colorful stripes?

Yeah, as much as I love Will Smith, I have to say he was completely in the wrong here and he did kinda disappoint me as a fan. Even though I don't like this kind of comedy, comedians are known to roast people, particularly any celebrities present, that's just them doing their job. So Will and Jada should've expected this. And while I don't agree that you should have to laugh along (that if you don't then you're being too sensitive), nothing gives anyone the right to physically hit someone for telling jokes. If they found the joke too offensive, then they should've just not laughed. If Will would've just stayed quiet with a serious face, and just shook his head, to let everyone know that the joke wasn't ok, then people would've probably sided with him, and thought the joke was going too far. But instead he tried to act the tough guy, which was just immature tbh.

And I don't think the joke was all that bad anyway, it is just alopecia. She wasn't in a terrible accident or had gone through cancer or something. Besides, the fact that she had purposely shaved her head made it seem like she had accepted it by that stage and was getting over it. She could've even used this opportunity to laugh about it and show everyone that there's nothing wrong with it. That is the whole point of roasting after all, to laugh at yourself (even though I still don't like that style of comedy tbh).

Plus then there's the fact that Will had no problem laughing along at all the jokes Chris made about other people and their wives, so that was quite hypocritical. He was even laughing at this joke until he saw Jada's reaction, which was very strange. I do think she has a hold over him and is really bad for him, but then he is a grown man and should realise this.
