Best 80s movies to watch?

I recently downloaded this app on my phone where I can watch anything, so I want some great 80s movies to watch. I was born in 93 but I still like watching 80s stuff. I've already seen alot of the classics like back to the future, most movies with molly ringwald, Heather's, etc. I want some movie recommendations that weren't so mainstream but still awesome to watch.

It was definitely the film of the decade.

I'm forcing my twelve-year-old to watch iconic old films so she'll understand the references to them that occasionally pop up.

As it happens, we watched Turner and Hooch last night, and Twins tonight. Neither are what I'd call great films, but both are at least okay and very much of the eighties.

She's already seen ET, The Shining and Ghostbusters. Tried Raiders of the Lost Ark a few months ago, but she found the opening sequence too scary.

I think we'll wait for a bit before we try Blue Velvet, Aliens and Blade Runner.

Breakfast Club has to be on anyone's list of iconic eighties films, if only because of how many of the young actors went on to become very famous.

If your tastes run to the creepy and freaky, you could try some Cronenberg: Scanners, Videodrome, Dead Ringers and The Fly.

At the other extreme, there's the slushy and silly Splash! and Mannequin.

House of 1000 corpses and The Devils Rejects. You might enjoy the cinematic genius of Rob Zombie. Good for Halloween watching.

Wasn't House Of 1000 Corpses made in 2003?

Either way I feel like listening to Living Dead Girl now! Hahahahaha!
