1st had more quality titles for the time by far than those that followed. That technically makes it the best.
Is not even debatable really to anyone that was there for all of them. Someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.
My older siblings owned a ps1 and ps2 by the time I was old enough to pick up a controller so I grew up on those and I have a lot of nostalgia for all those old games.
I think out of all of them the ps4 has the best controller. I haven't used the ps5 enough to fairly judge it but from what i've seen I wasn't that impressed.
It's objectively either the 2 or the 4. The first Playstation is "meh", the third was awful compared to the Xbox 360, and the Playstation 5 has had an abysmal launch.
The first PlayStation was "meh"?? Maybe by today's standards. You gotta remember that the PS1 and N64 are the consoles that officially brought video games into the third dimension. They were both phenomenal at the time
No actually, there were 3D games for the SNES and Genesis, the PS1 and N64 weren't first to do it.
But those were the exception. 3D games didn't become the norm until PS1/N64
But when 3D games eventually did become the norm, it was because of the PS1 and N64. 3D games would never have taken off if they were limited to the hardware of 16-bit consoles
Think of any of the 3D games for SNES or Sega Genesis/Master Drive and try to tell me they aren't objectively shit. Sonic 3D Blast was so bad I swore off 3D Sonic games until Sonic Colors came out
