I run a carsales yard, and sell both secondhand. We sell more Toyotas than Hondas, and spend less on repairs for Toyotas. Toyotas and Nissans are our top sellers. V-tec Hondas make us cringe; they are prone to high end repairs. Nissan engines are the best, Toyota transmissions are the strongest. Among other problems we have found to be common in Hondas are head gaskets, and heads.
Nothing beats a Toyota!!! They just keep going, I've heard of some that have done over a million kilometers and still running strong.
they both last a long ass time but toyota is alot sturdier/safer (despite the recent news propoganda) and in my opinion they have better styling as well.
I think they're both pretty good, however Hondas have the best re-sale value and also have some more higher-end models than Toyota.
They both make efficient, reliable, good all-rounders. I think it's going to come down to personal preference or an attribute such as resale value, number of seats, etc. What I mean is that it'll be dependent upon what you want from it.
That depends. I want to get the Scion FR-S just for a meantime before I get the Chevrolet Corvette Z51. The new CEO of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, made his cars look uninteresting and less fun. Honda stole the hybrid tech from Toyota a decade ago. The only good cars in the 90s from Honda are the NSX Type R and the Integra Type R. The S2K wasn't bad either, but it didn't last more than a decade for production. Toyota focuses on reliability more than performance. That explains the Lexus marque is there for the market. The original Toyota, not so much. They're in that basic tier class while the Scion is for the kiddy rice boys who claim they can drift like the Drift King. Yeah, but I just need the FR-S as my first car. Just gotta start slow before the fun begins.
Toyota makes better TRUCKS with a lot of different after market parts you can get with them.
Honda makes better CARS with lots of options as far as parts go and modifications.
So it really depends on what your looking for: car or truck?
Both are equal when it comes to quality.
Honda seems to have slightly higher resale value, due to the high popularity among youth. They line up to buy used hondas.
I have heard from several EMTs that Toyota is THE car to survive a collision in.
They both make very good and reliable cars, but I have heard from mechanics and friends, some of which are both, that Hondas are better.
Actually I am not for either one, being a retiree from Chryslers, but if I had to pick one it would deffinately be Honda, since there were so many problems with Toyotas with brake problems, I would not feel safe driving one now. But am very comfortable with both my 2010 PT Cruiser and my 2011 Hemi Dodge Charger.
Acura which is Honda has a reputation which goes over 300,000 miles and the newer Acuras are just as nice if not nicer then Lexus in my opinion... I'd pick Honda.
Nice poll. I have both and I've had to do more maintenance on the Toyota(but I've had it longer). I'm a little weary with new cars though(my honda), so I still keep a close on that haha
Did I vote toyota? I think honda better. I'm chinese and I drive a nissan, it's pretty good too. Mom says honda is more like a european car and better than other japanese cars(safety)
