Bf is using friends instagram to flirt with other girls

my phone has been cheating on me and i found out that he used his friends instagram account (that my bf made as a joke) to talk to other women. he privated his own instagram for the sake of not getting caught i assume.

the instagram includes my boyfriends friends real name with pictures of himself, he also has a girlfriend. he knows nothing about this. i’m still with my boyfriend. but was using his instagram account to flirt and talk to girls bad? should i tell the friend?

    It's really messed up your boyfriend is not only cheating on you, but also sounds like he is possibly catfishing these girls as well.

    I know this wasn't part of the question, but is just my two cents and you can ignore it if you like; but I would seriously reconsider staying with your boyfriend. That is ultimately a decision you will have to make yourself, though.

    As for whether or not you should tell the friend? I would. I know if someone made a fake profile of me and was using my real name and/or photos to talk to others online, I would absolutely want to know about it and be BEYOND livid, and even more so if it was a so-called "friend". Maybe this is me being a bit paranoid, but if something happened and say, one of these girls also had an extremely temperamental and jealous boyfriend and he found the account and decided to take matters into his own hands, your boyfriend could be putting this friend in danger for something he is not even aware of, much less involved with, so I personally think it's very important that he know.

          I think you should, how would you feel if one of your friends was pretending to be you online without your consent? It’s twisted behaviour.

          Also there should be no “if” in this situation. Alex is a cheat and a liar who treats you and his “friends” horribly. Read the writing on the wall (and the catfish Instagram page). Break ups hurt but you really need to have some self-respect and standards in this situation.

    So your boyfriend’s friend (I’ll call him Herb) is using your boyfriends’ joke insta account to flirt with girls? Herb’s taken over the account, putting his real name and pictures on it and you’re wondering if you should tell his girlfriend?

    If she’s a friend of yours then you’re a bad friend if you don’t tell her, but if she isn’t then it’s really your call if you want to do the moral thing and tell her or save yourself from the drama and stay out of it.

    If your boyfriend is aware of Herb’s behaviour and enabling it that’s a sign of poor character on his part. Who someone is friends with tells you a lot about them.

      no no no. MY boyfriend (let’s call him alex) is using his best friends (let’s call him chase) instagram. it says “chase” on it including his last name and pictures of him. chase has no awareness of alex’s behavior regarding his account because he doesn’t use it. but chase has a girlfriend. is this bad of my boyfriend to do this? should i tell chase’s girlfriend?

        So Alex is pretending to be Chase on Instagram to catfish girls and cheat on you? That’s all kinds of messed up.

        You can tell Chase if you want to but my first move would be to dump Alex.

        Oh! Why didn’t you just say that in the first place? You should dump him, he clearly can’t be trusted and it sounds like he’s devious enough to go to great lengths to cheat on you. You should also tell his friend and his girlfriend what he’s been up to.
