Boyfriend's dad being rude?

Long story short, I was sleeping over at my boyfriend's place and I woke up at one point and overheard my boyfriend and his father talking in the room next to mine.

I heard he's father mention how my family was "strange" and that I was lazy for not getting on WICK yet. (I'm pregnant and I do plan on getting on WICK, I just haven't had the chance to due to complications.)

I couldn't help, but to feel offended when he said that I need a good "kick in the butt" to get things done. I'm both pregnant and just recently got out of the mental hospital due to a suicide attempt, plus I have major depression and a illness that causes me to feel tired/weak a lot.

To make it worse, I heard him mention that he was going to "speak" to me tonight, most likely he was going to lecture me, or some shit like that.

Personally, I don't think it's really any of his business what I do, or how I live my life. He's not my father and I never bother him when I'm over at their place.

    If you were in a mental institution do you think that you should be pregnant right now?

    I do not know you thus I cannot judge you or your actions, I am just saying that if you suffer from depression now just wait until you have your baby!You will then be able to re-define the word depression!

    Maybe you should speak to a professional for some guidance on this matter!

    Are you sure that you heard your boyfriend and his Dad speaking about you or were you just imagining it?

    It's just an in-law relationship. Minimize contact, don't respond to him for either good or bad. When he feels like you passively hate him, things will go better.

    I'm not sure who to blame. What you overhead is more common than you may think. I can recall my mom saying rude things about my first girlfriend without even meeting her(it happened years ago). I suppose some parents just feel insecure when they see their child having a relationship. Perhaps they feel like their child is being taken away from them.
