Brown discharge instead of my period

I'm a 13 year old girl and it's normal for me to have irregular periods. This time, my period was late and instead of it I had spotting brown discharge for a week. I read online that brown discharge is normal before a regular period. And that is the problem! I did not get a period after the discharge. After a few days it just turned white and there is a lot of it. Please help me,I'm freaking out!

It's normal, especially at your age. Your periods don't start getting normal until about your mid 20s. Yellow, gray, or smelly discharge is not normal

It sounds fairly normal for someone with irregular periods. Brown discharge is just a bit of old blood.

Stress can make it even more irregular.

If you're really worried and want to put your mind at ease, talk to a female relative or your doctor. If it doesn't become more regular, you may need to see a doctor to see why that is. But at a young age it's not necessarily abnormal to be irregular.

Sex during periods is an excellent way to prevent pregnancy, fyi. If things are strange go ask a doctor.

Not really. You can get pregnant at any time. Plus, she's 13. Let's not encourage her to have sex for any reason

I don't encourage or discourage young children to have sex. It's really not my buisiness.

I'm a guy so I would get a second opinion. But it sounds like you have an infection. Most likely a yeast infection. Either way you should tell your parents and go see the doctor. Also if you a very active you can skip your period.

It really doesn't. She didn't mention a smell or any abnormality in the discharge other than the colour.

That doesn't sound like a yeast infection at all...
