Building bombs

I’m really into science, particularly chemistry, and I like to build my own explosive devices in my garage. I don’t want to hurt anyone with them or use them in public, I just think they look cool and I set them off in a field by my house. So far, I’ve only made pretty small explosives but I’m thinking of trying something bigger, such as acetone peroxide.

Buy a shack out near Lincoln, Montana so you can build any bomb you want. Just don’t tell your brother about it.

If you'd like your moment of fame, TATP is an excellent choice. And I'm sure your nearest and dearest would forever treasure your posthumous Darwin Award.

Or you might just blow off a hand or two and blind yourself. Life isn't worth living without a few challenges, right?

I was a member of a chemistry forum years ago, and one of the keenest young members documented in great detail his experiments with high explosives and chemical weapons over a period of months. Then one day, after a few weeks of back and forth with other members about his planned method to prepare a tidy quantity of TATP, he just stopped posting. My recollection is that one of the members knew roughly where he lived IRL, and another member of the forum lived near there, so he did some research and found that a kid had blown himself and the garage of the family home up recently.

There's lots of weird and wonderful things you can do in chemistry that don't involve explosives. Also, these days, it's safest to assume that someone with a badge somewhere just might notice you if some surveillance system you know nothing about flags you as someone who's interested in acquiring HE precursors.

Somebody's got to win the Autodarwination award. Special recognition for meritorious contributions to our sick sad world is important. Minimal collateral damage adds excitement for the spectators.

    Very normal for a chemist.

Why don’t you join the army and learn to do it professionally

    • Because I’m not a terrorist

I wasn’t suggesting you are a terrorist. You obviously enjoy working with explosives so I was simply suggesting that you join the army and get paid to do something you love

        • The military is a terrorist organisation. I prefer my explosions without the dismembered limbs of Middle Eastern children.

Or they call their enemies/victims terrorists so people like you will support them without investigating for yourself

I would of loved to do the same but I never got to take chemistry class.

  • I always thought bombs were the most boring part of science lmao. You see one explosion you’ve seen them all
