We are animals.
Other animals have personalities too. Obviously depending on the animal these can be extremely primitive or fairly advanced. So an animal can have an attitude that makes it assholey.
I know we're animals and that's why I said "(non human) animals" since it's already generally agreed upon that humans can be assholes.
If you are talking about a pet they turn out however they are raised. If you get a kitten and play with it when its little it will be friendly to people even if its only nice to the owners.
If you just get a cat and don't pay much attention to it they become solitary and don't really care about others. However cats are naturally solitary.
If you get a dog and you abuse or neglect it the animal turns out violent or afraid of people. So if an animal is bad as a pet its how people treated it. For wild animals its a bit different.
Wild animals will act based on eviorment, what type of animal, how other animals act around it, and other qualities.
Yes, if by "Asshole" you are applying human (more specifically Western) morality to them.
Otters may rape baby seals to death.
Dolphins may murder for the fun of it, gang rape females or kill a child to get with the MILF.
If anyone approaches a female kangaroo who is courted with another male, the male may attack the approacher and drive claws deep into him/her.
Male lions do some form of genocide by killing the kin after taking over a pride.
Orcas may torture animals before they eat them. This was documented when an orca actually did it to a dolphin (hint: Orcas are actually dolphins-cannibalism much?).
Well a lot of that (perhaps all of it) sounds like uncontrollable instinct so I wouldn't consider it asshole-ish. I meant more along the lines of knowingly and purposely annoying, bothering or doing wrong to others. Are (some) animals capable of that?
We restrain our urges and refrain from doing it when we believe that more harm can come out of good by doing it: That is why we have morality, because we have recognized that by controlling ourselves, we can further benefit ourselves. However, we are still animals at heart, and not all of us are all good at controlling our urges, or properly shaped and educated to do so. Our brains and logic are not infallible, and may be overpowered by our instinct.
Well.
My ex's Mums cat pissed her in the face when she was asleep once.
I'd say this is pretty fucking bad xD
I watched a 6 minute funneh video where animals were just being complete assholes to each other. You know what, I'm going to post a link. Watch itttt

of course they can but not really....we interpret human traits and behaviors that are not really there...
Yes of course, lots of hamsters are assholes. Domestic rats on the other hand are a class act!
From what i've seen, apes can be HUGE assholes. Especially chimps. They are not only assholes to each other, but to humans who visit the zoo too. They steal things, throw food at you, spit at you, they even show you the finger sometimes.
no the odds are stacked against them , in the end , poor things :( haha just thought of my aunts cat , hisses and spits and stalks u round the furniture, mr asshole himself
