Can statistics actually be racist?

I work in real estate which can be fast paced business and you really are only as good as your last sale. A lot of research goes into this also regarding market analysis, demographics, school systems, locations, etc...

I've noticed that statistics strongly point to a certain location losing property value when certain racial demographics move in. Its heavily favored that pre-dominantly African American neighborhoods seem to have lower property values and higher crime rates. Hispanic also, but more so African American.

Why are statistics even becoming racist now?

are you stupid? The statistics aren't being racist, the data is merely showing the truth that in general those neighborhoods have higher crime rates and lower property values.
You could argue that racist beliefs and attitudes led to this but the statistics themselves are just a tool.

That's very accurate of you to say, Mr.mr.

So racist beliefs lead to predominantly African American neighborhoods to lose value? How the hell does someone make that argument? Maybe its the crime being committed in the neighborhoods that lead to lower property values.

I guess if white people are secretly going into those same neighborhoods, somehow committing crimes, and then secretly leaving without being caught, maybe racism could play a part in that scenario.

Unless your opinion is that African Americans are being racist towards one another?

Look up the famous criminology finding called the Chicago school. It explains why statistics are like they are

Watch your language , I took offence to your 'white people' remark . We are Caucasian Americans or European Americans.

Racism used to have a meaning, until it became the secular world's word for 'evil', and the Devil disappeared and Hitler took his place. History rewritten so that MLK was a saint and the Civil War was all about slavery.

Instead of burning witches on stakes, humanity burns racists on twitter. And because anything and anyone can been depicted as evil in our irrational minds, facts can certainly be racist.

Guilty as charged. On a basic, non-logical level this election is:

Am I afraid of Trump? vs Can I trust Hillary Clinton?

We'll find the answers to those very soon!

I just noticed, for the first time ever, that there is "evil" in "Devil".

I moved around a LOT over the years and from my experience, I think it's true. I live in a town like that right now. People here get angry/violent over trivial things. They steal, sell drugs, and their kids run around half naked in the streets. Most of the people here are poor and a lot of the wealthier people have moved out leaving their homes to rot. I think the people in these neighborhoods need help, but not many in these town seem to want to change/help themselves(I have tried to help some people. It never works out). Living in places like these most of my life is a small part of why I've become apathetic to the world.

    • You can't help people that don't wish to actually help themselves, it's a totally pointless undertaking.

This is a trend that is taught in Intro to Sociology called "White Flight" It is hugely detrimental to society and it is seeded in racism.

Certain demographics don't lower property value people moving away because they think that it lowers property value lowers property value.

Certain demographics moving away lower property values. It's as simple as that.

What you said in "certain demographics moving because they think it lowers property value lowers property value" doesn't make any sense.

If both demographics are considered "equal" as we have been led to believe by the liberal media and overall saturation of political correctness in society than one demographic moving away would have ZERO effect on overall property values as the other "equal" demographic would have no problem maintaining the overall prosperity, curb appeal, and low crime rates that the other demographic enjoyed while living in any given area, correct?

"White Flight" or white people choosing to move out of a given area is certainly not racist as any demographic living in a free society have the choice to live where they please. It isn't "detrimental" to society as all demographics are equal now. Wouldn't you agree?

Statistics themselves are not racist. The application of those statistics can be though.
