Can you imagine how alone i am ?

this is my second year in university and I haven't made any friendships I am so alone and I believe that was one of the major reasons that made me fail my courses in my first year. Now I am really afraid that i am gonna fail my current year because nothing has changed though.

Almost everybody is alone, quality of people's mindset today is so low that no one can be friend with anyone. Only business partnerships exist. Sad but true. Historical records show that in the past, intelectual young people had a group of at least three to four really good friends they hanged out with all the time (mind you they were not just drinking, they discussed things etc.).

It took me 3 years to make friends. I learned how to be on my own, and I got a dog. Now I cant imagine NOT living alone.
It's cliche, but it does get better.
Join an organization that you're interested in, like a sport or a hobby. Friendships grow when you teach others or others are teaching you something new.

Actually wants to take the time
    To see how you would

I agree with candy having friends or not having them has nothing to do with success in academics!! The school world around you is thriving with opportunity to meet people maybe there is more to it and you should ask for help with socialization or just stop trying so hard or maybe your not trying hard enough? Goodluck

It takes time to know strangers~ Maybe because either of you were shy, or don't know what the others think about you.
This will be answered when the right time comes thou. Not to worry. Today that person might not know that you exist, the next, they're you're best friends~ =)

What does not having friends have to do with failing classes? If anything not having friends should make you more into your schoolwork because you don't have the distractions of going out and partying, etc. I went crazy freshman year with boys and my new gained freedom and social life, as a result my school work suffered.

So I think you're talking about two seperate things. Maybe you're depressed, but you should channel all your energy into your school work. At least one part of your life, academia, can be good. Then as you do well in school you can join organizations that interest you like a biology group or something. Social awkwardness is normal, but don't let it mess up school, focus on kicking ass in school and everything will work out.

Have you tried joining a society? You'll get to meet people with mutual interests and that's always a good basis for a friendship. I joined the film society at university and even though we're now spread around the country, we still have nights out three or four times a year to catch up.
