Can you open and close your eustachian tubes at will?

Your Eustachian tubes are what let you equalize pressure in your inner ears.
I can hold mine open indefinitely allowing me to fly, scuba dive, or drive mountain roads without ear pressure issues.

I didn't realise that everyone couldn't do this before taking scuba lessons.
The instructor was a bit freaked out by it.
