I tried learning to play the guitar, but I didn't have the patience to learn another instrument (I play the piano)
If by 'acustic' you mean 'acoustic' then yes I can play it. ;b
That's odd that you [Melly & dappled] had problems with playing the guitar. I had read somewhere that if you were a piano player learning another instrument would be easier. Since piano players are more prone to learning more than just one instrument.
I've not heard that before, although it makes some sense and I do play (or have played) quite a lot of instruments. I just really struggle with the bridging on guitar. My dad plays, though, and he plays piano too. Outside of piano, I'm better at woodwind because they were the instruments I first learned on.
I used to play bass but it was too easy and boring. So now I own some awesome acoustic, electric and semi-acoustic Gibson guitars.
I don't know how to read sheet music but I can read tabs though.
Taught myself how to play. I don't like playing notes because anyone can do that. I prefer playing fingerstyle.
It's the easiest instrument to pick up and play. You can play quite a lot of songs by just learning 2 or 3 chords.
I learnt by just messing around and experimenting, never really learnt any chords by name, I'd just make them up. After a while, you get an intuition for it.
I'd love to have a piano though. I've played one a couple of times and even without a clue what you're doing, you can still make a beautiful sound :)
Barely, and I've been practicing for months. I suck at it but I'm getting slightly better.
no, but I've always wanted to. I have a guitar, but a string broke and it's so out of tune!
The best guitar players I know are well versed in many instruments. Any good musician will be able to play more than one instrument. However they will likely be better at one over the other due to which instrument they prefer.
I can play the clarinet and flute. (not that I consider myself a good musician)I am more adept with the clarinet but I enjoy flutes more so these days. I tried the guitar but my small arthritic hands make it difficult.
If you play piano you shouldnt start playing guitar. Ofcourse you can try but if you wanna be a good musician you should focus on 1 instrument.
I am not saying that you cant, its in my opinion just better to focus on 1 instrument.
I play the acoustic guitar and i love it.
I'm the same as Melly. I play the piano and a few other instruments and tried a couple of times to learn guitar (I love the way it sounds). My fingers just don't work that way, though. Whether that's because I'm used to piano or not, I don't know.
