Cardio training without weight loss?

Hey all,

I have a very fast metabolism, which makes me pretty skinny. I want to work on my cardio by running. While it's good for my heart, I'm afraid it's making me even skinnier.

Do you know a good way to do cardio exercices without risking weight loss? Please add sources if you can. I can only find sites about weight loss, and almost none about cardio exercices.

Thanks!

I know a thing or two about this sort of thing, let me comment 4
I know nothing about sports, but I'll comment anyway 1

If you eat more to make up for your exercise, you shouldn't lose weight. Running burns roughly 90 calories per mile, and walking burns about 60 per mile. This varies according to body weight, incline, and speed, but it's a good number to go by. If you eat about 90 calories per mile extra, you should be fine.

  • So you shouldn't worry about the weightloss, running will burn fat it won't eat away at the muscle making you healthier. However you should be mindful of diet and incorperating different types of exercise. Your diet will be especially important because of your fast metabolism remember to eat proteins within an hour after working out or your body will start eating at the muscle (the worst thing ever). Biking and swimming are also great cardio exercises.
