is it normal that I have a crush on a cartoon character? ok...I'll be specific...but I'll add the dots so it seems like this is really awkward for me...which it is... I like Katara from Avatar the last airbender, one of my favorite shows, once again...is this normal?

I'm 19.. and I have a huge thing for Roark from Pokemon. Call me crazy but he'd be sexy as hell if he were real!!! That aside, I know that he is not real! So it's fine to admire so long as you don't confuse fantasy and reality. If you find yourself becoming depressed because they are not real, then THAT is not normal.

I've had crushes cartoon characters when I was younger, I haven't quite grown out of it either as I seem to have somewhat of a crush with a certain oranga parka wearing kid >_> but I never go over the top and forget that he's not real, he's only real on tv and in my mind.
Course it wouldn't work anyway considering he's so much younger then me XD

okay so the main reason I joined is because I'm having this exact feeling! It started normally, I just decided to watch; Arthur and the Minimoys/Invisibles since I used to love it when it came out n I was younger and I found myself awkwardly crushing on Arthur the minimoy! I just love everything about him; his cute face and his romantic and brave character:) I know he isn't real and all and I'm not crazy or anything, I just always loved to dream & it's s good way to escape situations that make u feel sad or hurt. So yes it is completely normal!

I feel that it's perfectly normal. I've had various cartoon crushes. I've had a huge one on Fry from Futurama since I was 16.
I also had a thing for Princess Daisy of the Mario Games back when I was a tween (before I knew I was gay).
Just don't get to the point that you'd rather admire them than go out with someone real. Personally, I turned to Fry because I had gone through some really tough relationships, but just decided for him to be my substitute until a real guy that I truly like would come around and we'd go out.

That show is addicting and once you get more intwine with the troubled and playful characters, you feel like you want to be a part of them. I remember in the past i had a huge crush on Zuko from avatar, only with his long hair though. See, it is absoulutely normal. The only reason we may like animated characters is because it seems as if they dont have any flaws like humans do. And thats sexy!

As long as its a person cartoon character yes, its perfectly normal. I have a huge crush on Lynn loud from the loud house. But I think the reason for that is because I want to be withna girl just like her. That's the reason I like her so much. I would love to meet someone just like her. If you are a boy like me and you have a crush on a girl character like Lynn then its perfectly natural. Or if your a girl and you have a crush on Steven from Steven universe then yes its natural. That's basically your subconscious or heart telling you that that's the kind of girl you should be with in real life similar to the character. That's most likely the reason.

No cartoon crushes are wrong. At least not to me. I mean, I have a serious attraction to Shego and Kim from Kim Possible. I fucking love KiGo. I get so pissed when I read a fanfic and nobody updates. So I see no issue with a cartoon crush or attraction.

Of course it is. Everyone has one (If you say you never had a crush on a cartoon character, you're lying right through your teeth). I have like sixty (e.g. Star butterfly, starfire (I must have a thing for adorable alien girls named star. XD), and elsa from frozen). However, it could be werid if you never crush on actual people and you spend your whole life being obsessed (That's werid on it's own) about a cartoon character that is never there. It's just a cute little crush that'll pass (Maybe not for some, but as long as you don't go overboard, you're fine). :)

Yes and no because a lot of people have crushes on fictional characters but the actors who play them are real which isnt the case with cartoons
I think its normal because ever since kindom hearts the game came out,i've always liked the character Sora.I thought he was pretty damn SEXAY!!i still do and if he was real,he'd be mine and damn,i'd fuck him xD

it is normal. just remember that, thats exactly what the animaters or the producers want you to do. admire, love, fantasize about the characters so that you can fall under the spell of t.v and its horrible traps. just remeber that reality is way more important that fiction and fantization. depending on the way you think, you can pretty much have a crush on anything if you think about it. vampires, where wolfes, faryies,dragonsall of there dont exist but people think it would be cool if they did. it is perfectly normal.

HAHA!! I've seen cartoon characters and said "WOW! If they were real they'd be hot!" Like Esmerelda from that Notre Dame movie for Disney. But thats about it... I've never looked at one and thought of them as being an actual person to date.
So that may not be tooo normal.
I have to say, anime characters can seem to be attractive, seeing as they are based on humans, you know. And, they were written to have personalities, so, yeah. That's fine and dandy. But, it bothers me because my girlfriend used to like yaoi. Don't get me wrong, if you want to be gay, bi, lesbian, or whatever else, go ahead. I don't care. It would just make me jealous if two gay anime characters caught her attention more than I did.
