Chances of a third world war

I am scared that russia is going to attack more countries here in europe.
I feel scared about going to work tomorrow. Our apartment building doesnt have an underground shelter.
I dont understand why no one can assassinate putin like whats even the point of assassins if they are useless. Cant someone who is able to get to him poison him or is everyone completely brainwashes buttlickers to him, so much that they dont even care about their brothersister country ukraine because putin said so... cant all russians who has any shred of sanity stand up against him all at once there is already a war over there so whats the point in holding back and not doing anything because its risky... I thought russians were supposed to be tough guys who drank vodka for breakfast lunch and dinner and fought bears...Well jokes aside I feel scared just sitting at my desk now because its by the window. I dont want to get randomly shot. I dont know anything about war and stuff... what happens if this doesnt end and can it end... I feel very depressed like I want to die (but not in war)

Russia is not doing too well in Ukraine. Russia is going to have to really ramp up their attack and get their logistic situation figured out. They werent expecting this kind of resistance and the last thing they're worried about is invading other countries right now. I think Putin is backed in a corner is embarrassed and he's gonna really unleash his army and start bombing cities to the ground.

That 3.5 mile long Russian convoy of vehicles and troops was taken out by drones. They dont even have air superiority! They're getting stomped and the whole world is against them. Their currency is collapsing. It does not look good for Putin and Russia right now. I feel for the Russian people and the conscripts that didnt want this.

Dont take your eyes off China. They will probably invade Taiwan soon.

Russia had the advantage of planning out the invasion and the logistics for said invasion. I think he thought ukraine would fold within a day or so. Since that didnt happen theres a whole new need for logistical support.

Now ukraine is getting all of its logistical support it needs from the west and more importantly it's the correct logistics. No helmets but bullets and anti tank munitions.

What russia has in its logistics is mostly munitions and now fuel. Since they assumed they would of held Ukrainian cities by now. Since they dont have the cities they have to March their important logistics through unprotected skies and mostly unprotected roads.

The Ukrainians arent mining the streets yet since they intend to use those same roads. Though they are removing all the road signs to confuse the crap out of the armored crews and they are running out of gas and getting the hell away from a powerless tank/armored carrier.

All the russians can do at this point is use artillary and rockets to try to blow up their opposition. Which coincidently is also inaccurate as hell which is causing more civilian death which in turn is causing even more sanctions and hatred against putin.

This isnt ww2. The Poland invasion which now is considered to be lighting fast took 36 days. We are day 4 so far. And with musk's skynet we will still get news from ukraine about updates.

I read an interesting thread on Twitter yesterday by academic who specialises in international relations and Russia in particular. He made the point that what the Russians have done is a half-assed Blitzkrieg.

The fundamental concept of Blitzkrieg is that the first echelon steams in by surprise with overwhelming force, and they don't worry about eliminating all the resistance; it's just about graining ground until you get beyond the point where the opposition has established lines of resistance. The first echelon is rapidly followed by second, third, fourth and whatever echelons that focus on clearing out pockets of confused and demoralised resistance and establishing supply lines.

It appears that the problem Russia has is that Putin started to believe his own bullshit about how Ukrainians are all _really_ Russians and they think of themselves as that first and foremost, and that the vast majority of Ukrainians hate their government and love him. He also apparently hadn't noticed that the Ukrainian military is not working with the same decrepit USSR-era hardware that they had when he took over Crimea in 2014. Nor has he apparently considered the fact that the long conflict in the eastern provinces of Ukraine means that there are several hundred thousand Ukrainians who have military training and experience of front line service.

The only point on which I have a slight quibble with what you say here is about the accuracy of Russian weapons. From what I've seen, they're accurate enough to destroy civil administration buildings and barracks, so I'm not willing to cut the Russians much slack when they claim they "accidentally" hit a whole bunch of apartment buildings and the occasional school.

I can't help feeling that a lot of professional Russian soldiers (as opposed to the poor, pathetic conscripts) are thugs who have been brutalised by the system they're in. They get their rocks off by blowing shit up, and if the shit happens to contain a bunch of civilians, they simply do not give a fuck.

Thats genius that they're taking signs down from the roads to confuse the russians. I would put a stop sign on the interstate though. That would confuse the fuck out of them 😂

I know I couldnt resist. Its just a funny vision for me to see a russian convoy on the way to the battle but theres stop signs every 10 feet so they keep stopping 😂

            Im sorry..

I doubt the russian generals and commanders would be so cruel to use nuclear attacks unprovoked. Remember it was a nuclear subs commander that said no to using a counter strike nuclear missile when there was a false flag glitch. What do you think the average commander would say to putin trying to use a nuke without any other attack by nukes?

Even so the world is at least somewhat united by this crisis. Not even China is supporting this action. China isnt saying no either but not saying yes is good enough for their position.

Both russia and china are a net importer of food. You cant eat gas. Russia who's currency is crippled will soon be unable to feed its populace which in turn will cause massive social unrest. The average russian may be against the war but unwilling to speak up because of threat of the police state. That will melt away if starvation starts to take place.

It truly is a shame that China is an importer of food these days. Mao Zedong's plan to industrialize the nation to "prepare for a modern economy" obviously did well for them in terms of general world positioning. I just wonder what China, and the world as a whole, could have been if they stuck to their agricultural roots.

Thankfully america is in a better position. We have to import some food but that's because we like exotic food. Our staples are all covered and we export that. We could totally starve china if we block aid them.

Look at it this way, the Russia/Ukraine conflict cured COVID. You should probably cash out your bank account though.

More likely that Russia will go bankrupt due to the sanctions.

Apparently China taking Taiwan is the biggest problem.

But Russia is out of funds. So idk that this particular phase is going to last much longer.

They should deploy 50,000 US troops to Taiwan. Theres no way China would invade it with US troops there. We really need Taiwan bad. Its more important to keep Taiwan than most Americans realize.

Any taiwan invasion would be incredibly obvious and both horrifically daring for china to undertake.

For the conventional amphibious landing those ships would have to mass up and move their troops at the minimum 3 hours to get to taiwan. During which those transports need both ample air support as well as undersea support as subs can start sinking ships. Not to mention the sea mines that Taiwan is very likely to be stocked with.

To contend to the fact that taiwan has a dozen or so tiny beaches that can be invaded. Most of taiwan has sheer cliffs. Bordered by urban jungles. The other beaches are protected to beyond D day levels. There are 100 scattered tiny islands where missiles and artillary are stacked on. Taiwan has many underground bunkers and tunnels. Taking the island will require a complex use of armed forces using precision... something that china will most likely not have since the last war they were involved with was in 1970s using fresh faced troops with a mostly converted civilian fleet.

Compared to Ukraine, Taiwan is a fortress. As well as under the table deals with other countries. Since overt support would cause china to invade. But unlike ukraine which has a crappy economy taiwan is rich and makes 60% of the worlds microchips so theres a heavy intrest to protect taiwan by neighbors and the usa.

It will be a slaughterhouse to the Chinese.

"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows."
    -Matthew 24:4-8 kjv

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"
    -1 Corinthians 15:55 kjv

    Hmmmm. Overthrow the ruling class…

How about we topple our government, maybe through a riot or revolt, claim it a nation for the people based around equality and citizen empowerment.

Become a Peace spreading people within our Land and break Bread with our allies. Something that gives strength to the workers and seizes the means of production. Hell all we have to lose is our chains right ?

I think that’s something I might be able to get behind.

If Russia attracts other countries besides Ukraine, especially if your country is a member of NATO. Then all other NATO nations are obligated to defend who ever gets attacked. So for that reason, I wouldn't think putin would want to attack any one else, they seem to have their hands full with Ukraine anyway.

Hopefully this will not evolve much further than Russia attacking Ukraine, I don't know what will happen if another country decides to join the invading party.
