Collecting carpet squares for the future

Pretty much how the title describes it: I have been collecting carpet square samples since 1992. I'm almost at the point where I can put them in as new carpeting for the house I just bought. They don't match and it's a little uneven, but they were free. Does anyone else do this?

    Yes yes yes!!! Patchwork is one of my favorite things in the world. I was in an old house once that had the carpeting like that in the porch. I thought it was the best thing id ever seen and wondered why the hell I hadn't thought of it.
