Honestly, most people figure about 1-2 hours per day, myself included. I have the same problem, I can't seem to push myself away from the computer sometimes. But whether or not you go to school still or have a job, it's still important to include other things in your life. If you're still in high school and you want to achieve good grades, then 1 hour per day max! (Apart from using it for research) But if you have more time on your hands, then 2 hours is about appropriate. Anything more then that and it could turn into a problem. Family, friends, school/work and whatever else makes up your life should stay that way, without the computer taking over them. Remember that the computer is just a machine, and you can have a better life then that. If it's difficult to do, then force yourself as much as possible to think of the better things in life, like partying with friends. Hope this helps. :) Ashley
The world seems to get more and more computer addicted by the day so the acceptable limit is constantly rising. It is considered normal to spend up to 6 hours occasionally and up to 3 - 4 daily I think. Anyone who exceeds this seriously needs something else to do.
I don't like spending too much time on the computer. I have been known to spend up to 18 hours in the past - quite often on GTA Vice City and San Andreas.
Dear ashleychan- i'm not a student, i'm not even a teenager.
I'm an adult- 31 years old and i have no job and yes i guess too much time on my hands, but like for two years now i haven't been able to pull myself away from the computer and its like i have a life there and prefer it to real life!
I think it's because i haven't many other interests and not too many friends i have in common with, plus i'm over weight and don't have a bf now.
I feel i'm different than others and have different mentality than them so we don't really connect.
I understand. However, if you're asking this question, then maybe it is time to give it a bit of a break to see what opportunities there are away from the computer. After all, there is only so much you can do on a computer and after a while, it just won't be as fulfilling anymore.
As for getting away from the computer...well, it's best to plan things out in advance. Be that applying for a job or going for a walk or to the gym or volunteering somewhere. Those were probably crappy suggestions, sorry :X Or if you have made good friends online and you know them really well, perhaps you could arrange to meet up to see if it could really work. There only way to get friends you can really relate to is to put yourself out there and take a chance. Then once you have friends you actually enjoy spending time with, you'll find many more things to do together. It's a bit like building up your life away from the computer.
Not sure :/
If it's consuming all of your time, that's probably too much.
