Clean the inside of your pc people. Dust will built up especially between the fans because they suck in air, if you do not clean it will make noise. May even lead to failure of the component.

I had this, and my PC is fairly new with high end components. I know this sound well and for a few weeks I thought it could be that my hard drive is fucked.

However, I sent it in for testing and the guys at my local IT store said there was simply dust build-up inside the case. They cleaned it out and since then I've been spraying my PC's insides thoroughly every month with compressed air.

I would recommend clearing your PC with compressed air and if the problem persists, send it in for testing.

Wait, is either your HDD, or maybe your cooling fan possibly being fucked up the ass...

I would say the fan. It would be rotating in a certain way to create the scrape noise. If it were the case it would be more of a rattle and the hard drive would be more of a crackle haha. That's what makes sense to me...
