Conditioned to wearing my boot?

Two months ago, I had my foot run over by some ass wipe and required surgery and a boot. My doc. told me I should try taking it off for short periods throughout the day but I dont want to. I want to get better but at the same time, I feel really weird not wearing the boot. I feel that because I wore it every day for 8 weeks, I was conditioned to wear it. I know that I dont really need it as much anymore but I still want to wear it all day every day. What do I do?

You were healing, not being conditioned. Now take off the boot and let your foot continue to heal.

Give the boot the boot. Stand on your own feet, kid.

Well, if you want to wear a boot find a footwear that's like the boot, and substitute it. Or recondition yourself to not wear that boot.

If your doc says it's time to start removing support, like the boot, do it. This is an important part of the process to get function back to normal. That said, I wore a boot after I broke my foot. I didn't like having it on at first, but pretty quickly loved it and called the boot "my friend." It was comfy, protective and allowed me to get around without crutches. So, I get it. Now, take it off.

Why even go to a doctor if you know so much more than he does? Do as you damn well please, after all, it is YOUR foot and it will be your foot when you've fucked it up and become a gimp for the rest of your life.
Sounds like a good plan to me!
