Confused about identity

Okay so everyone when they’re a kid goes through a phase where they’re figuring out their style. Well I’m a redneck at heart. Always really have been. But lately I’ve gotten into Jordan shoes. Growing up in an all black neighborhood and school it was just cool to have them. I’ve bought some expensive pairs. But it seems like the boots and jeans I used to ALWAYS wear I’m not wearing as much. And it makes me feel like I don’t know who I am. It could just be a phase, maybe I just like Jordan’s. Is this all normal ? I mean I just don’t wanna lose touch of who I am. Or my identity.

When you get older you'll wish you hadnt dressed like a douchebag at your age. Heres some nice boots they're really good quality, made in Mexico. I wish they carried them in my size. The quality is that of $300 boots.

    • Those are primarily work boots lol. I like foot wear. For years boots. I have from 150$ durangos to 700$ lizard skin luchesses. I’ve always wanted Jordan’s and now I can afford them some times. Boots last forever lol.

      I don’t see what’s douchebag about wearing Jordan’s tho.

Idk only speak from my own experience. When I look at some old pictures I cringe at the way I dressed I wore one those flat bill hats and id have jordans on. I guess it was in style back then but I looked like a wigger or something.

        • Nah it’s not like that. I mean I just where a t-shirt and some jeans. I ALWAYS have on a hat but normally backwards. I guess that’s more douchey. But I’m not super baggy pants big shirt and side ways flat bill lol. It’s really just the shoes. Sometimes I’ll wear some slimmer jeans instead of boot cut when I’m wearing them. I just like Jordan’s and have always wanted a pair. I’m just scared I’m losing myself I guess if you get what I mean.

Sometimes I feel like I should be perpetually dressed in all black.

This change is normal. But do think of it this way I would say is abnormal.

Yeah its normal. I was kind of punky/alternative in my style but now I don't really have the motivation to upkeep that image. I just wear whatever I like or something random from my closet tbh. It's like a teenage thing to be obsessed with upkeeping a certain image, when you get older you realize it's not important and that you can mix your style up and wear what you want at the moment without worrying if it suits your image. I think it's normal to feel lost as well about whom you are as you grow out of something that was a really big part of whom you were. My only advice is try to find a hobby or something maybe interact with new people and you oughta find yourself through that, and either let your new style develop on its own or go online and find some style inspiration from various websites or even celebrities and you'll probably feel inspired by something.

Never figured out my style. I buy my clothes at a grocery store based on price.

Always wanted to have a bear headed cape. Upper jaw of a bear pelt as a hood and then the rest of the pelt as a cloak. Seems comfortable and badass.
