Correcting a little girl about my little pony
I was at a bookstore today, reading a magazine. There was this family across from me with this little girl who kept talking about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She couldn't have been older than 7 or 8.
Then at one point she started talking about Twilight Sparkle. In the movie, Twilight became an Alicorn, a hybrid of Pegasus and Unicorn. But this little girl didn't remember the proper term. She kept saying she was a Unipegasus and crap like that.
I was fuming at this point. She kept repeating these nonsense words, trying to define Twilight Sparkle's appearance. After about ten minutes, I stood up, picked up her Twilight Sparkle doll and shouted at the doll.
"I'M TWILIGHT SPARKLE. I'M AN ALICORN. ALICORN. ALICORNNNNNNNNN."
I slammed the doll back onto the table and fled.
Is this normal?
