Could i have pcos and can you die from it?

Ok. So I was just curious.. I'm a 21 year old female, virgin and I've had really dark thick hair around my nipples for awhile (years) I believe. I really don't know when I first noticed it but I don't think it used to be this dark until I started shaving around my nipples.

So my aunt and me were hanging out today and I told her about my hairy nipples and how I hate them and wish I didn't have hairy nipples. She told me she'd ask to see them but she didn't want to sound weird but I told her it was fine and showed her one nipple and she was like "dang girl your nipples are hairy, you should get them checked out you could have PCOS or something wrong with your hormones.

I tell my aunt everything since she's not that much older than I am so I feel comfortable with telling her stuff and I'm pretty open to things I tell her sometimes but when she said that I kind of felt even more insecure about my nipples.

I even grow strands of little hairs on my chin but they aren't really noticeable unless you get really really close and look at my face upclose. I even have a couple dark hairs under my belly button (happy trail) and it's dark but it isn't thick just a few hairs (it's noticeable)

I asked about 5 months ago on here if it was normal to get body hair if you are a girl and I had a couple people tell me it was normal and girls do get hair in places where you least expect it on a girl but 5 people said it wasn't normal.

I looked online of women with hairy nipples and they don't seem that bad like their hair spreads out and it isn't thick. Mine is black and thick and I have a lot around it. I haven't shaved for awhile cause my mom said it will just get darkwr and thicker and not to worry about it.

My aunt told me an old friend of hers had PCOS and had to have surgery to remove the cyst. I got a little worried and asked if you die from PCOS and she said you can if it randomly explodes. Is that true? Can you die from PCOS?

I looked online and read about it too and it said that it could happen from weight gain and irregular periods. I have gained about 30 lbs in a short amount of time and my periods don't really come like scheduled. I think sometimes I miss a period a little after it's expected. (I don't keep up with my periods) so I dunno.

But, even before I was at an okay weight (125) I had hairy nipples but my periods were okay. I'm 156 last time I checked. I feel like my periods are irregular cause of the stress I been through a lot and maybe from gaining weight also.

I'm just wondering though .. is it normal to get hair around your nipples if you're a girl? And some light hairs under bellybutton and some on your chin and cheeks.. last time I checked a few girls said they had the same problem and it was normal cause we are human.

And does it sound like PCOS? And can you die from it? I never really knew what it was until my aunt said something about it. I also remember posting on here saying that I sometimes (rarely) will get a cyst on my vagina lip (not labia) before my period starts and this girl told me to get it checked out cause she had it and was diagnosed with PCOS. This was before I knew about it since it was for a different problem I had.

Sorry that this post is so long. I'm just kind of worried. What scared me the most is that she said you can probably die from it.

It could be PCOS, but we aren't doctors and we can't diagnose you. It is rare for people to die from it. Go to an endocrinologist to find out what treatment you need and to check for other hormonal issues.

I have it and I freaked out at first, it's really a misleading name cause you don't have to have ovarian cysts to have it. The biggest indicators are irregular periods, infertility , excess hair and acne. For me being on birth control helps a lot! It's not going to kill you by itself so don't worry.

Get to the dr, it sounds like a hormonal imbalance but you need to be checked.

it could very well be PCOS.. or.. OR.. you could just think about your nipples as having eyeliner around them. To accentuate them.
