Developing new allergies as an adult?

I never had food allergies other than milk as a baby. Growing up milk was didn't bother me but I avoid it these days. Now in my late twenties I think I'm getting allergic to some fruits. Bananas, avocados band even some berries...mangos too. They either burn my mouth and lips or in the case of avocados they don't do that but I get a reddish rash on my chest shortly after. Seriously is this normal? I'm trying to be healthy but nearly all the smoothie ingredients( dairy bananas fruit) I don't eat.

It's very normal. My sister used to be able to eat Strawberry products, but once she hit her 20's she had an allergic reaction to some strawberry cake that almost killed her. She can't eat strawberries.

    • That's what I think happened to me. I think it was something in the mixed berries. All of a sudden...is that how she was?

Her allergy developed out of nowhere. I think it's the seeds in the berries. This one's not related but, I used to be able to eat dairy, but one day couldn't even stomach it anymore. Now I have to pay more for lactose free stuff.

It's common for allergies to develop at any time, but for so many to appear in a short space of time may indicate something not quite right with your general health.

Obviously stay away from the foods that produce the allergic symptoms and if I were you I'd be consulting your doctor and getting an epipen for emergencies.

It happens. Allergies come and go. Your taste for different foods can change. All completely normal.
