I remember watching Dragon Ball Z as a kid and there was a scene in the Ocean Dub where Goku turns down a beer and has a "sports drink" instead. I stayed away from beer in my teen years because of that. It wasn't until years later I actually did try a few alcoholic drinks and Goku no longer influenced me. It was the horrific taste of the beverages that made me not ant to drink them. lol

I think both TW3 and the Smothers Brothers (think John Stewart/Bill Maher) shows taught me that it was OK to doubt and even ridicule government policy publicly. Neither show lasted, mainly because of government pressure, but while they aired, the US was a little better place.

  • I think it has affected my accent. I've moved around the UK a lot, Wales, England, Scotland. Never left the UK. However somehow, to some, I have a posh American accent. So I'm guessing American TV has effected my accent.

Other than that I can't say it has effected me in any way I know of.

      "Posh American Accent"
3 words that I never thought I'd see in a sentence together like that before.

Everything you absorb influences you in some way. I don't even know where to begin. I used to play so much DDR that I dreamt of arrows. Just arrows afloat.

Exactly - influence is a pretty broad and vague term. I don't think I was inspired to alter my character or make any major life choices because of TV/film, but obviously my life has been impacted in minor ways because of it.

Example.. example.. hmm... well, TV shows that I used to love as a kid really shaped my early views of society and give me strong nostalgic feelings today.

I love DDR! (Everyone: of course you do, Koda..)

          Dance Dance Revolution

It's a game that makes people who can't dance, a la me, feel like they can! Watch a video of someone playing it if you want. It's really fun and addictive.

Oh I played it a couple times, but I thought you guys were talking about a movie or TV show, so I didn't even think about it when I was trying to figure out what it stood for. Lol I was on a completely different page.

A lot of the things I say are references to tv, anime, or video games that just also happen to be fit for use in regular conversation. Not most, but a lot. It's made me cooler by like 20%

I engaging in a conspiracy to impeach Frank Underwood, I'm planning the murder of Doug Stamper, and I'm building a home for Remy and Jackie to live in happily ever after.

He was crippled and weak - it was pity sex. I bet Francis could murder him if he wanted to though. Or he would just tell Doug to kill himself and he'd probably do it.

Frank is a MURDERER. I love him as a character since he's really complex but damn... he's a really bad person.

Remy and Jackie are adorable, omg. Loveee them.
