Did i use the wrong word?

I thought that "personable" meant someone who is good with people but now I'm reading that it means someone who's physically attractive?? If so I feel really bad because I put it on my professors evaluation!! truthfully I do find him cute but he is not conventionally attractive so I'm afraid it will seem like sarcasm:(( or else that I'm just weird/dumb (the latter of which would be preferable at this point..).

So, does personable mean attractive or approachable? (Why didn't I think of that word until now..)

Mostly means attractive 1
Mostly means nice 18
Means both equally 5
..you're fucked! XD 7

The only negative way I can see, is if it was used in place of a stronger word. Like a half assed complement. But I don't get the indication you used it in that way

I think it is similar to "approachable" which just means the person is down to earth, friendly, normal looking, easy to talk to or start a conversation with, and they probably have a good personality. So they give off a good vibe

You don't own a dictionary and you don't know how to google a word for its meaning?

    • Not when in the middle of a timed evaluation. As I said I looked it up after wards, and it gives both meanings of the word. I was asking which one people would assume in the context.

I meant before you came on here asking for its meaning. If you use a term which has more than one meaning there's obviously no which meaning other people will choose

    per·son·a·ble
    adjective: personable
(of a person) having a pleasant appearance and manner.
synonyms: pleasant, agreeable, likable, nice, amiable, affable, charming, congenial....
Seems to mean both. You are fine.

Personable meaning: (of a person) having a pleasant appearance and manner.
--> which can also be: friendly or pleasant in manner : easy to get along with.
It all depends on the context you are writing it in.

    • Hopefully it'll be taken as the 2nd definition, in the context of professor evaluation..! Or I will be really embarrassed v.v
