Diy dentistry - is it normal?

A former neighbour (quite an eccentric elderly English fellow) used to tell me that he did his own dentistry, filing down his teeth and using 2 Pack epoxy resin to do his own fillings.

Not quite sure how it all worked out as he's gone now...

But is it normal?

    No its not normal. People do all kinds of crazy shit to save money but I don't recommend it.

    My friend did it with lots of whiskey and drugs for pulling out a tooth, but it turned out not to be a good idea.

    surgery sounds like a hard job. what if you made someone a vegetable? would you go to jail?
