Do i have to meet my best friends sisters?

I met them once and had the most horrible experience, every time I visit his town his sister's invite themselves, they try to invite me to lunch, dinner, movies and I can't stand them so I don't go nor do I go to his place when they say they're coming over. I've managed to avoid them for years. Is it normal? Do I have to hang with them or see them?

He's my best friend, he's straight, I'm straight but we're not together just best friends. We did date for a little while but realized we're not relationship compatible.

His sisters are evil is the only way I can put it. The things they said to me and did to their own family is sick and after I met them once I had severe mental health issues so I don't want to see them ever again but they keep trying to get involved or see me and it's a struggle to keep avoiding them but they're evil people and I don't want to see them. Is it normal?

    No, you do not have to meet them. Tell your friend that the friendship is between the two of you, and does not extend to his sister(s).

    While you don't have to meet them. A casual meeting for a few minutes here or there would be common.

    I've had people visit my house when other friends or family members drop by for few minutes. Brief introductions, a few minutes of conversation, and they were on their way. No harm done, and it did not really interfere with my time with the people visiting.
