Do people really not drink sweet tea?

So someone was telling me that sweet tea is pretty much only popular in the southern states of America. Is this true? I always assumed British people for example drank a lot of sweet tea. Also do they drink sweet tea in the north and west? Also do you own a cat? Thank you.

We tend to look down on people who take sugar. It's like they never quite 'grew up'. At least, that's the stereotype.

Gotta love national tea rituals. Just ask the Japanese!

Yeah, I always found that funny. I remember people loading my tea with sugar as a kid, and then some time around my 20th birthday I decided to stop taking sugar. Just because my teeth had become sensitive and I was worried about the empty calories. But a lot of people seemed to think of it as a rite of passage and a sign of maturity.

      It's all kind of ridiculous.

It is, but I find it cute.

Absolutely. This is the kind of stupid stuff that makes me feel homesick.

  • I'm a northerner raised by a southerner. I drink sweet tea daily, and with mint. My cat's name is Mergoat, he is the strong, resilient goat on the mountain top who can escape into the emotive waters. He's also my little fluff bunny 🥰

I don't like my tea too sweet, when you asked if any of us have a cat RoseIsabella is probably the best candidate to ask since she talks about her siamese cat named Andrew hahahaha! But I do own a couple of fishes that I named Magikarp.

I take my tea plain. However sometimes I mix in half a glass of lemonade and make an Arnold Palmer. But only in the summer when it is real hot outside.

I'm in UK and I drink sweet teas. I like them way better than normal tea because of the flavour but it's expensive so we hardly ever get it

England is known for HOT TEA. America told England to screw off during the boston tea party and adopted coffee instead. However, later on sweet ICED tea has become a tradition in America. It is very popular or well renoun in the southern part of the US.

Southerner here. Cold tea must “put fuzz on yer teeth”. Hot tea, depending on the type and season, I’ll use local honey only.

I like lots of honey in my tea. I'm not a tea drinker though, I love coffee and hot chocolate and I only drink tea for my tummy. I guess if you're 'into' tea you know how to best prepare and shit so you don't need to sweeten it to stand the taste.
I drink green tea and it's pretty bitter.

I’ve been to England and was able to find cold bottled sweet teas in convenience stores and vending machines in London. Purchased one too, it was even a brand I’ve seen here in the US.
