Do some pedos become teachers solely because of the kids? iin?

Just something that I've been thinking about- pedophiles are obviously evil scum that deserve no sympathy from anybody, but I have to wonder about the teachers that turn out to be pedophiles: do they become teachers specifically so that they could molest children, or do they just want a paycheck, and molesting children is an added bonus?

Not that it makes any difference about what they do, but it's just a curiosity of mine, because every story I read about a teacher molesting a child just makes me sick to my stomach.

...God, I feel like the way I worded the multiple choice answers are so degrading and wrong, but I feel like it's the simplest, shortest way to put them :(

    I took a criminology course a while ago and one of the topics was pedophiles. I recall one of the guest speakers saying, which makes sense, that pedos usually choose careers and activities that involve children. For example, teachers, coaches, boy scouts, clergy, bus drivers, etc.

      IIRC detectives who get assigned to handling child molestation cases have to be specially screened as well...

      the reason behind that is ... when evidence is collected it often includes child porn. They want to ensure the detectives assigned to review the porn aren't going to be reviewing the evidence for their own pleasure.

          they also get regular counseling iirc.
          mainly because some of the stuff they have to view is very disturbing

    I think becoming a teacher is an awfullly long and expensive process to go through for the sole purpose of molesting kids. I think that type of situation happens more with volunteer type positions.

    I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's just not likely....kids are way more likely to be molested by relatives than anyone else. Which is ultra-disturbing.

    Anyway, teachers are under pretty close watch, not just by the school but by the parents and entire community....so it's probably one of the toughest jobs to get away with actually physically doing something to a child.

    I really don't know though. I'd like to think that it's not true at all. But you'll have that type of person in any job, I guess, so it's best to just be vigilant about who you let your kids be around, and who you let in your home.

      It still happens with teachers, though. There was one recent case where an elementary school teacher was blindfolding the kids and putting insects on their faces as part of whatever else it was he was doing.

      He got caught because he was photographing his activities and when he took his film to be developed, the person doing the developing called the police. If this guy had been using a digital camera, he'd still be getting away with it.

      And he's hardly the only one. I agree with you that it usually seems to be a family-member or a friend, but also teachers and people at church. Anywhere that there's a relationship of trust and the ability to be alone with the child, that's when it can happen.

    in 5th grade i hade a female teacher who when one day when i got to school and open my classroom door only to find my teacher and another student pulling up their pants with a little grin on their faces, another time she bent over with no bra on and i saw her tits. so yes child molesters are teachers.

    People who work in sweet shops like sweet... people who work in banks like money (don't we all I hear you say)... women become porn stars because they like sucking big cocks...

    But please people don't tarnish all teachers with the same brush, all but a very small few do it for job satisfaction working with children... until theyve done it about 5

    I would say probably or they would choose a career involving kids. I think people should be really extensively tested and screened before being allowed to work with or near kids.

      Screening should be fairly easy. You can at least screen out the ones that have been caught before.

      What kind of testing could you conduct, though?

        Well that's true and although I did type that, I don't really know how it would be done/happen. I suppose you could conduct psycholody tests, check for anything (not that, that is any indication of course) or maybe just make sure they have no criminal record etc.

        Oh, I don't know :( I just wish there was a magic way to know who was and wasn't.

    I answered, "I don't know," but I'm sure there are all kinds of reasons. I think they're really sick, though, and out of control. I don't think anyone in his right mind would take so many risks and harm so many children.
