Do women truly mature faster than men?
I've heard it many times that women gain psychological maturity faster than men.
Is it true and does it keep on being true in all age brackets?

Well considering in school at age 8 when the teacher said behave when the sub is here in a group of say 20 all the girls listened and every person in trouble was usually male. That would probobly prove true even if you are not for "Women are better".

If you studied every person on earth it would be a poll, not a survey. A survey would involve the assemblage of data from a representative sample, a lesser amount.
As to maturation of females vs. males, start with with the Journal of Developmental Neuropsychology, 16(3):479-506, 1999, then work outward from there.
There is also anecdotal evidence of immaturity, e.g. the juvenility of your statement.

...but it's still down to statistics, which are far from accurate most of the time. At the end of the day it's all down to the individual personalities of billions of people which statistics could never cover. In other words this is a really pointless debate.

I think it depends on the individual and not the gender. I have seen many men not maturing when they should and I have seen an equal ammount of women be the same way. Men are more active and more energetic, having to let loose some energy they may at times seem immature but thats them having fun. I class immaturity as somone being stupid in a serious situation or work etc but if immaturity was the situation made to be immature then I dont think there is a problem. But then again women do the same thing but for some reason they only see it as the males being immature for doing such immature things even though they do the same.

well i think girls have to mature faster because we go through alot of things that guys don't have to worry about until they're older. But i think girls are always still immature inside- they just have to act mature at times. Life is hard.

Perhaps statistically, or in some bullshit study or whatever. But in real life? No. Me and my friend are both girls and we're the most immature people ever. I can't ever imagine myself 'growing up', having kids, sitting in a boring office job ect. I can see myself still playing video games, watching cartoons and skateboarding everywhere at age 30 and beyond. I wouldn't have it any other way :)

I think women mature faster then men. But I think once men mature (if they do) then it really depends on the person. Some girls are more mature then other girls and some guys are more mature then other guys. I don't care as much about mature it isn't as big of a problem for me as long as the guy isn't acting like a 12 year old boy giggling about every little word I say taking it sexually, that irritates the hell out of me!
