I think its a first world problem. Half the world doesnt have plumbing and in my country we worry about someome calling us he or she
I find it ironic that we have a gender for everything, even the lack of a gender.
Can a white woman identify as black?
Can a man have his age legally changed?
Can a woman identify as a cat?
All of the above have happened. (The man was denied legally changing his age, but he attempted.)
What harm does it do to me to accept them? Only harm that can be done is by treating them as other.
They might not want to be the gender they have but they still have a gender.
I believe we have a gender. Man and a woman. I also understand that some people wish to be the other gender, I'm fine with obliging them with the pronouns if they're respectful enough to believe I'm not compelled to do so even if I disagree with the legitimacy of it all.
(((but))) You lose me when it stops being an adult thing and starts being pushed onto kids or when you have the insane idea that if someone doesn't comply with the pronouns then they should be punished.
Also no. I don't buy into the "sex and gender are different!" view. Just because two words mean the same thing doesn't mean you can just claim otherwise. I fell into the trap of letting certain groups dictate that position.
When parents are being arrested for not addressing their kids with pronouns that other adults have groomed them into adopting then you know it's almost time to get the shotgun.
The slippery slope was proven real, sadly we have to deal with it.
No I do not. These people are the epitome of confusion.
They want to fight against female stereotypes and male stereotypes yet the second they dont fit into their birthgenders stereotypes they all of a sudden need a whole new gender to identify with or claim that they lack a gender altogether... They just want to be speshuul, obviously.
Sex and gender are NOT the same thing. Sex refers to the genitalia, gender means sel identity. And some people may identify as gender neutral.
An uninformed opinion. Psychklogically there's no pathology. You can look it up in the DSM-5.
So are schizophrenic people mentally ill? They didnt ask to be born that way. You can be born with mental disorders or you can progress into a mental disorder. Body dysmorphia is when you dont like an appendage and do everything in your power to remove it. Is that not a mental disorder?
Just saying how can you be born a male or female but say I don'have a gender? What class of people is this now? They saying I'm not straight gay, bisexual, lesbian or any other group that fall under this umbrella.so what are we calling them?
People can be whatever they wish to be as far as I am concerned. Their choice, their business.
What about when they want to teach it to children and then encourage them to transition even when they dont have the capacity to even know what dysphoria is.
True lots of children are pushed into this by their parents when their brain isn't even able to understand what's going on
They should wait until they are old enough to understand, Lloyd, then let them decide.
Hermaphrodites have been known to exist for thousands of years (and in every culture of the world).
Not only is it not clear what sex they are... they also may not have a clear male of female sexual identity.
I find it amazing the number of people who do not wish to acknowledge that hermaphrodites exist...
To them the world is only black or white. In reality I have found the world to be mostly grey of various shades with some people being at the extreme and black or white (on whatever issue is being discussed).
True hemaphroties exist... but are extremely rare and at that point a dna test is undertaken to determine what actual sex they are.
I am XXY but I'm male.
The accuracy of genetic testing for gender is not 100%... and they have found cases where its not clear, and other cases where while it seems to go one way or another... their are no physical advantages.
The most famous case of this was Polish athlete Ewa Kłobukowsk in the 1964 Olympics. Ewa won gold in the women's 4x100 m relay and was third in the women's 100 m. In 1967 she was found to have a rare genetic condition (XX/XXY mosaicism) which gave her no advantage over other athletes, but was still banned from competing in Olympic and professional sports.
The Olympics stopped genetic testing in 1999 due to the inaccuracy rate of DNA gender testing and the fact that for hermaphrodites that there are no real athletic advantages either way. They now use other methods to verify a clear sexual crossover mismatch.
Sex is what's between your legs and in your genes, gender is how you relate to that and the role that society tries to push you into based onto an accident of birth. Some people have only weak ties to their biological sex, and do not see their status as a man or a woman as being an important part of their identity; to be fair, if I were to awaken tomorrow as a woman, the only thing that would disturb me about that is the prospect of having PMS and a host of other hygiene and biological difficulties that I don't have as a man.
Those people who "don't" have one need to find more meaning in their life
As someone who is genetically closer to a female than a bulk of these trans people I can say with full clearly it's a mental disorder.
