You're as old as you are and you feel as old as you feel you are. Why confuse the two?
No. 80 year old's aren't exactly running around getting shit done like younger people are they, even if they think they are having fun, chances are they're gone or going, mentally and physically.
I can feel and think all I want about the whole "you're only as old as you feel thing", but the disc deterioration and bone spurs in my back state the unfortunate and irrefutable truth.
I think you could feel as old as you feel you are. But at the same time I think we are or we should be aware of our real age at the same time. Its like a sort of balance instead of one or the other.
Well from what I've experienced, from the age of about 16 and up we're all the same, just trapped in different bodies and different generations. Like I work with people of all ages and I don't have to treat some different than others because of their age, we may have different sayings/humor because of the different times we were born in but were basically all the same.
You can control how you feel by making sure that you do all you can about exercising everyday, get medical check-ups as required. Think young.
My Mom who lived into her late 90's told me that the mind really doesn't change. "You still have the same thoughts you had maybe 50 years earlier". "Nothing really changes". Your mind doesn't think old age unless you just give up on living your life to the fullest.
Don't feel sorry for yourself. Get up and get going.....even with a "walker".
I'm 20, I look 27, I truly feel I am 69. I love sweaters, sewing, staying indoors, and hanging out with my grandma. I guess yr as old as ya feel and/or act
