Do you butter your bread with butter?

How exactly do you butter something with something that isn't butter?

When I first saw this I thought it said "Do you butter your HEAD with butter?"

When mayo isnt available butter is a good alternative.

What else would you butter your bread with? That's why you call it "buttering". Anything else would be called "spreading",

Not real butter, no. I use soy butter.

Depends what I eat however I prefer not buttering my bread when I eat soups.
