No, my father was a compulsive gambler and a nasty piece of work so it put me right off.
I regulary "gamble" with several of my friends, a habit since my teenage days.
We don't gamble for money though, we gamble for dares.
That goes from just plain silly things that give the others a laugh up to "seriously" daring stuff that could end with physical violence or a night in prison, depending on how "emotional" the bet is/how severe the "debt" is.
When I was a child, sometimes with my friend and her mom, I would do the scratch off lottery tickets. I never won large amounts.
Food gamble. Is this leftover rotten? This raw chicken is 3 days past the sell by date, if I cook it for lunch, will I be violently ill? How many hours can that sit on the counter before it becomes toxic?
Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
I don't gamble, but I have a nack for it. I gambled playing poker with my father and his friends when I was young. Ofcourse, he only gave me about 50p to start off with, thinking I would lose it and be out the game so that the adults can play seriously, but at the end of the night, I won £50 with that 50p he gave me.
I played a few games without money (I used match sticks) for a little while, and I kept winning.
I think I am pretty good at lying and faking facial expressions at the right time.
