Do you guys think an asteroid will hit earth?

I read on an article somewhere that there’s a huge ass asteroid coming to earth in like 2 days. I’m not sure if I believe it or not, because Nasa has been predicting an asteroid to wipe out earth for years now.

Even if this one doesn’t happen, there will always be asteroids in space that could head to earth and possibly cause extinction.

So what do you guys think. Do you believe it will happen? Or is it just more crap?

    To the best of my knowledge NASA has never said an asteroid that is being tracked is going to hit earth and cause a catastrophe.

    They have said it's possible in the future - in fact a virtual certainty in say the next 50 million years based on the geological record.

    But, yes; the astronomy community has reported that a large asteroid is coming "relatively close" to earth. That is actually announced a couple times a year. "Relatively close" is often within a million miles...

    no because they always say almost every year that an asteroid will hit the earth and end us all. it's crap, they say it and nothing ever happens. Like how the world was supposed to end in 2012 and we are still alive.

    It will 100% happen... sometime.

    Could be 10 years (we would easily see it coming) or 100,000 years from now. Not really a super fucked situation for humanity.

    Finally an apocalyptic scenario where we actually have the technology to prevent.

    Earth is pretty sheltered from asteroids. First we got Jupiter to catch would be astroids in its gravity. Then we got the moon which is like a shield from a lot of the dangerous (wont burn before impact) "small" astroids.

    Plus at this point we have enough understanding of how gravity works to detonate a nuke right next to an asteroid to knock it off course. Plan B is sending enough nukes to break it up so instead of 1 big problem we got 1000 smaller problems. Perfer to get shot with birdshot than a cannon.

    all about the hype and causing chaos, the ultimate control comes when people are fearful of the things around them, thats why the government is causing so much panic over covid, the virus is real the hype is way over done, control control control
