Yeah I wouldn't like that person after that. Chances are they were lying to get attention and/or money. It's a pretty pathetic thing for them to do.

Belle Gibson is all I can think of right now. She had, like, terminal brain, blood, spleen, uterus, liver, and kidney cancers... and cured them all on her own! It's in the book.

        • When she got interviewed, the interviewer saw through her lies instantly.

Here's the full interview you can take a proper look if you so wish to:

NTM: Belle Gibson's son is gonna have a hard time, I hope he does not become like her.

She needs to seek a mental health professional. She doesn't act normal at all. XD

Even I think it’s offensive, and that says a lot.

Who lies about having cancer? That's just the ultimate dick move about lying about an affliction.

Having a cold? I understand that. Having cancer, no reason can justify that.

There are a few people who have lied about it in order to get sympathy and money.

My memory says a couple a year hit the news for that. Usually, they get charged with some form of theft or fraud charges.

    • The other reason I asked this question was mostly because I remember seeing a lot of news articles online with countless people faking it.

If you know someone who has lied about having cancer, I think you should share that precious knowledge with everyone who knows that person. It's not really stabbing someone in the back if that person is a lying sack of shit. πŸ˜‚

Out of all the things you could fake for attention, I cannot believe people choose something so awful. Cancer is so scary, it ruins people's lives. If it doesn't kill you it will make you extremely weak and sick and you'll have to spend your life scared of it coming back, if it ever does go away. Not to mention how ridiculously expensive treatment is, in the U.S. at least. But for a lot of people it's a death sentence and it's devastating for the person and their family. People who fake it have clearly never been impacted by it. I can't even stand jokes about it, much less someone pretending to have it. That makes me so angry.

Anyone who is lying about having any sort of diseases for their own personal gains are insufferable assholes. Kinda like those loser attention seekers who self-diagnosed themselves of having depression and shit, for instance.

People who fake illness in general are awful people. Unless it's something like munchausen syndrome, there's usually a less that noble reason behind it.

Yeah, it's an awful thing to do, especially when there are people out there dying from it who would do anything to NOT have it, then there are jackasses out there lying about it for money and attention. People's well intended donations that could've gone to an actual person with cancer end up funding these people's scams instead.
