For those who don't know it's the habit of peeling skin off your fingers, chest, etc....And i've been doing it to my fingers for the longest:/ anyone else have this PAINFUL habit?

I feel excess skin off my feet, but it's bloodless because the excess skin is already dead before peeled (especially after a bath, where it's easy to peel off).
i chew the taste buds off my tongue, obsessively. is that the same thing? and it gets really bad when I'm anxious.
For some reason I have four fingernail corners that I like to dig at (my two index fingers and my two ring fingers), but it actually feels quite pleasurable and almost sexual. Also, my middle toes, but I don't really mess with them. Sounds different from what you describe, but I do destroy the skin and I don't think I'll ever know why only these six specific spots on my body receive self-destructive pleasure.
I have dermatillomania but mine manifests as obsessively picking at my zits and scabs. I also pick at my lips when they're dry, sometimes to the point that they bleed.
That sounds very strange, and scary!...and like you said, painful. Is there a cure, it must be psychological, is there a cure?
