Do you know the rule of ethics in research?

Apparently not everyone has heard of this. So I wanted to know how many people on here know it. These are the rules of an ethical experiment. It says stuff like 1.subject must know they are in an experiment 2.Must not harm your subject. I don't know all of them but these are brought up when discussing if an experiment is ethical or not.

Yes, I know what they are. I can list all of them 2
Yes, I know what they are, but can only list a few of them 6

I have heard of ethical considerations related to scientific experiments, such as the consideration that consent should be acquired from the people that are subjects of study in the experiment.

If you're talking about some specific Rules of Ethics in Research, as something thought up by a certain organization or group of people, then no.

Yep. I've studied psychology for almost five years (at various levels, from extremely basic to more advanced), and social science more broadly for one year. Ethics are mentioned very frequently. There's a lot of them, and their relevance depends on the types of research design, the methods you're using etc. It's very complicated, and nowadays the process of getting research approved by an ethics board is very strict.

    1. Deception - participants must be fully informed about the experiment unless deception is necessary for the result (e.g. Milgram's study on obedience)
    2. Harm - serious psychological/physical harm cannot be inflicted on the participants
    3. Informed consent - participants should be asked whether they consent or not to the experiment
    4. Right to withdraw - participants should be allowed to leave the experiment at any time

Gee whiz, what's the fun in experimenting on human beings if you've got to follow a bunch of silly rules?
Ethics when conducting research on people? Pshaw! How in the world do you expect scientists (or any curious person) to learn anything if they've got to follow a moral code? Balderdash!
Let's have FUN and call it research.......Maybe we can even get a government grant.......
