Do you leave the bathroom door open or closed in general?

I have a roommate who leaves the bathroom door OPEN. It doesn't annoy me to close it, but it's "dirty" air mingling with the clean (especially since the lid isn't closed on the toilet). I don't understand why some people keep it open even though my reasons can be seen as odd by some.

I live alone with a Siamese cat, so there's no reason for me to shut the door when I go to the bathroom. If I shut the door the cat will just open it and walk in the bathroom. I rarely dump alone, because that's the way the cat likes it. He is my raison d'etre!

I was thinking that. I'm not judging her, but I really can't even have the door slightly open at all.

        Tell her, but be understanding!

Being that I live alone, I don't close the bathroom door when I'm home alone. A few of my male friends and I will pee with the door open when we are hanging out, either at my place or theirs. If I have female visitors, I'll close the door.

Do you mean while in use, or not in use? Regardless, I only close the door if I am showering or I have guests over.

I also think it depends on the location of the bathroom. If it is in a high traffic area i am more likely to close it. My current bathroom is at the back of the house next to all the recycling, trash and cat litter. I'm not too concerned with the door.

And how dirty is your bathroom if air mingling is a problem? That's just germ paranoia and not a real issue. Your fridge probably has more illness causing bacteria and that's where you store your food.

Either truly. The bathroom isn't dirty but that's where you do your business. I doubt anyone wants to smell odors wafting out.

It's kind of different on a boat as the bathroom is very small. Even when using it, we keep the door open.
Not too much in the way of smells, though; hatches and ports are open 24/7.
