I liked it but it's so fucking overrated I can't stand it anymore. I've seen anime, read manga and seen movies and I used to be really into it but everyone thinks it's the best anime ever and it annoys me.
I may have too agree with you on that, though I suggest you watch samurai champloo and monster. The latter in particular resembles death note in many ways
If you like Deathnote, check out Code Geass. It is just as clever and interesting.
i never got into it but i love your picture and i love the K turning into an L
I haven't watched it. I do like some anime, mainly Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin. Maybe I should check out Deathnote.
Cool concept but I'm not really into anime or manga. It seems like a really cool idea though.
I enjoy Deathnote, yup. I watched it a long time ago but it was very entertaining to see the "protagonist" continuously outwit people and how the show didn't rely on fighting to make it good, outside of the whole death thing. The 2nd opening theme is really good too, surprising since I normally don't like such heavy electric guitar. I can't really say its overrated though or maybe I just don't have enough exposure to the fans.
I've heard of people calling Naruto fans "Narutards" but even though half of users names in MMOs have Sasuke or Itachi in them, the anime has to be doing SOMETHING right to gain so many fans.
Naruto really was not that bad. They developed all of the characters very well and went into detail showing us each characters background and personality.
It also showed all the ties between the characters and why they were in the current predicaments they were currently in. However I think what annoys most people is the main character. Who really has no redeeming characteristics.
He is a complete idiot which might be forgivable if he actually tried at anything which he didn't. He gave up on anything and started to be the class clown and he might be more successful if he put force the effort. Since being the fox has amazing potential. Along with that he has this optimistic attitude that he is great when he just seems stupid.
Now the dark equivalent of him is Garra which is someone you can sympathize with since he is in the same situation but does not come off as the stupid naruto. Naruto is also annoying since his stupid catch phrase "Believe it" even when he once again ends up fucking up.
Saskue is a cocky bastard and sakura is a bitch for leaving her only friend in the world for a boy. When Ino was the one who always stood up for her when she was being picked on.
Lee was always a underdog but has an unbeatable spirit and tries his hardest always. Which even though slightly annoying at times you can not help but admire his spirit. This is a wonderful character and a great example.
Gaara turns into a monster and becomes bitter which is very sad but origanly is a lot stronger even more so to the leaf village characters. We also have the Shikumaru who is incredibly brilliant but lazy. Which is a shame and another character that has yet to utilize full potential.
Kiba is basically a human dog but I really like him. Hinata back story is very sad and you have to feel sad for the predicament her and her cousin Negi is in. As he is clearly a better fighter and would be better for the title and Hinata who tries so hard and can never live up to it. A sad position they are both left in. It did however put way too many pointless filler episodes torse the end of the exams after Naruto defeats Gaara which a lot of people stopped watching at this point.
However I do like the storyline after starting Shippuden but I hate the new costume designs. As many others have complained about. The issue many have with naruto is that it is unrealistic. Since they are ninja and they dress that way.
We do have some traditional dressed ninja but those are never any of the main characters which they have many of. Each had great character development. Which you must give the show props for.
I like the interesting and very original costume designs in the original(not shippuden) naruto. So calling people who like naruto (Narutards) proves you are unimaginative, not very creative, unoriginal and probably a bore to talk to.
Truth be told, I've only seen very little of the anime, when Haku shows up. Ever time I tell people this, they start attacking me. x_X I do agree about Naruto's personality and Lee is a very cool character. I don't use the term Narutard though, I think that is quite dumb.
Death Note is an amazing Manga/Anime series. I love that it's psychological and that it can sometimes contain humor. Well, rarely. Anyways, my favorite character was probably L... But I loved his death, since at the very end he got what he wanted.
I watched the whole series when I was 13. Man did I have the biggest crush on Light.
I love death note!! I have the mangas 1-11 and the book 'L changes the world'. And two 'L' necklaces ^.^ And my friend pairs and draws pics of L for me! As you can probably tell my fave character is L. <3
I watched the series a long time ago in middle school when it was a big deal. While I do think it's a very good anime, I don't love it like other people do. It doesn't give me any sort of emotional reaction like other really good anime like Madoka Magica or hell, even Naruto does.
I like the plot. I think its interesting and creative. I did attempt to read the manga but I didn't like it. I remember being unsettle by some of the drawing styles especiaLLY for the character's "demon companions". The thing I hated the most was L. The way he was drawn and the way he carried on made me feel nauseated:/ I wouldn't mind giving the anime a shot, though.
It seemed a very idiot anime before, but then I started watching and it is much better than I thought :D
The live action movies had a much better ending to it all. It's one of my personal favorites though.
They are decently made. However the English subtitle do not match the dub over at all. They did not give each character their own unique hair colour but they were all black haired Asian. Which if they made it in japan is understandable but I think they could have at least used hair colouring or a wig.
Just because Misa's hair wasn't blond doesn't mean it's a dealbreaker and that's hardly any grounds for a gripe because it pays no relevance to the story or anything else for that matter. If they wanted to make it really legit L shouldn't even be japanese. The 2nd movie is definitely better than the first and overall the direction it took even surpasses the original anime and manga ending it between Light and L. Near and Mello were a way to drag on the series and ultimately they are not as interesting as L was. I'm not saying it wasn't entertaining but seriously, they weren't needed.
I heard Hollywood has picked up the rights for a Death Note movie which should work just fine because all you have to do is really just take it out of Japan and put it in the U.S. That's it. Someone would have to really try to make it suck if Death Note of all shows isn't adapted into a decent film.
Each character had a unique look and hair style. They could have changed the hair or wear wigs. It really is not that expensive. Also you should always pay attention to detail in everything you do. That means movies, writing and work. Have some pride in your workmanship. So yes the hair colours do matter. I also did not say it was a horrible movie. So are you saying they are redoing the movie a third time?
The only hair color that is different is Misa's because Death Note doesn't use that anime trend of every color is a natural haircolor. It's all rather normal. What more do you want from it? They are virtually just exactly what it should be, live action versions of the characters. Are you saying the guy who played L didn't play L well? He was exactly like him. In real life anime doesn't automatically translate to the real world which is why some things need to be cut and haircolor does not define their personality. Especially since it's Death Note which doesn't have many anime flare characters and are all just regular people.
What do you mean redoing the movie a third time? It's only been adapted once so far to live action and yes Hollywood has picked up the rights to adapt the anime into a live action film.
I can't get into it, but it's not the series itself. I have bad associations with it, and it's just not worth it.
