I hate them. There's a whole list of reasons why but they way they do things is just pisses me off. Im still for helping animals and such. I support the ASPCA and local SPCA's. but fuck PETA
Doesn't PETA kill about 70% of the animals they "save" because they can't home them?
LOL, the I eat zombies guy is a vegiterian im sorry am I the only one who finds it funny you posting this with that user name XD Love your name by the way ".

I love wierd intrnet users I like when poepel are ceative with thier usernames its mroe fun to read . Lol and to whoever asked am i for or against peta I dont know anything about peta I just know what it stands for I couldnt say .
PETA has the right idea, but they go about it in such a stupid way that I can't stand them!
Worthy causes are a strange thing. When they use the same techniques as "celebrities" to get noticed, it tends to impact negatively. It's like the geeky kid at school suddenly wearing fashionable clothes.
When it's a manufactured artiste desperate for attention, money, sex, we don't mind. When it's someone/something that wants to make a positive difference, we dismiss them. I include myself in this because I have mixed feelings about PETA.
Doing the right thing is uncool. Just one more reason why humanity is fucked. And deserves to be.
Unfortunately, peta is run by quite the two faced liars. I really wish I could remember the information to fully back this up. The point is, the followers may have good cause, but peta does not.
I don't know, either. I've heard all sorts of things and can't remember most of it. But it has caused me to have mixed feelings.
I do wonder if PETA are victims of propaganda, though. People ranging against PETA have more to gain (personally) than PETA activists. I don't have any evidence to support that, though. I'm just pondering.
"Just one more reason why humanity is fucked. And deserves to be."
How misanthropic of you :/
I like peta like I like feminists. They have mostly good intentions and started out of a genuine concern. But both use shock and scare tactics and BS stats and figures to further their own political agenda. PETA specifically skims their donations like mad. You can expect almost 60% of your donations to them NOT to make it to the source it's supposed to. out of that 40% that remains, a huge chunk is used for further media campaigns and advertising. and if someone threw a bucket of paint on me while coming out of a department store, Id break their arms for them and tie them into a knot.
I don't see any point in being a vegan/vegetarian and no propaganda or facts can change that. I do however respect them to the point where they start disrespecting people with opinions that doesn't go along with theirs.
PETA doesn't respect anyone who likes to eat steak or wear a leather jacket
Nuff said...
I love PETA.
"Stop wearing fur or we keep showing you nude hot women/celebrities".
Whichever fur-loving genius got them to follow that flawed plan of action should get the world troll medal!
PETA is bullshit. I am an animal lover. I do eat some of them though. I am more of an ASPCA type guy.
I'm a vegan and I hate PETA.
While they are good at raising awareness about issues society should definitely be educated about, the tools they use to convey their messages are just wrong.
As far as I know, most of their money goes into (largely ineffective) advertising rather than into actual animal rescue and caring programs. Plus in my experience, the aggressive and sexist ways PETA use in their adverts tends to make non-veggie people think we are crazy and is not very effective in actually making people want to change their behaviour.
I honestly thought for a while all vegans were like PETA, but some vegans dont give a crap about animals and just want to be healthier.
I am a meat eater, but I think it is a little silly that some vegans dont drink milk when it doesn't hurt animals and is healthy.
Some people don't drink milk because they don't wish to support the large dairy industry; conditions cows are kept in on SOME dairy farms are cruel -

Others don't because it's unnecessary; there are plenty of better sources of calcium and protein for humans.
Some don't because they can't; lactose intolerance is common.
I do eat dairy products, but I can understand why others don't.
Well, I care a lot about animal rights but still I'm nothing like PETA people.
Lactose intolerance is quite common in any non-white people though, so it makes sense that this is something avoided by a large number of people.
Then again, on the ethical side it won't really make a difference for the farmers whether you buy milk or meat. The point of veganism is (in my view) not to financially support an industry whose principles are incompatible with my own views on ethics. Making this industry insignificant gradually is the only way to protect animal rights (as understood by vegans) in the future.
I like what they stand for, and I personally don't think all of their methods are as immoral as some people say. However, their methods are ineffective and counter-productive because they only serve to make themselves (and other animal rights causes) disreputable. They'd be better off taking a less controversial stand-point and being universally supported than an extreme one that is divisive.
I also think they could easily be victims of propaganda; not saying there isn't quite a bit of truth in some of the complaints about them, but it's become far too popular to hate PETA with the media for me to be able to trust everything that is said against PETA. The mainstream media is (to some extent) biased against PETA, no doubt about it.
As with all organisations, it has it's upsides and downsides. I like that they are against fur and cosmetic testing on animals, and I like that they are pro-vegetarianism. I dislike that their over-sized and under-funded animal rescue programme ends up putting down so many of the animals it takes into care.
I guess what it does best is what all organisations relying on shock value do best: raise awareness. Everyone's heard of PETA, and more people than ever know that animal right are a serious issue. What it doesn't do so well is directly helping solve the problem in any other way than awareness, or convert it's awareness into active supporters of the charity.
