Yes. When I watched it I felt I was in their home. I liked the comfy couch with the quilted thing on it and the generic soda cans littering every surface. It looked like a real home.
100%
It touched the concepts that weren’t talked about, joked, but also applied “my loved one is in this”.
Spot on.
I voted to Rosane for president. So fuck y’all.
cosby was the sitcom gold standard at the time and was ridiculously fuckin unrealistic in its portrayal of real life
when roseanne came along people could identify better with it
and course once you got thru the glossy veneer of cosby there was the druggin and rape so theres that to reflect on years later
I never watched it much back then but as an adult i can see a sort of trashy appeal.
They are still way better than actual white trash irl
Her rendition of the National Anthem on national TV set a new standard that will never be forgotten by those who have seen it... nor I doubt ever exceeded.
I doubt I ever watched an entire episode. Who wants that kind of negativity in their life?....
I got light switchplates just like the ones in Becky and Darlene's room in my bedroom.
I watched it when it was first broadcast (what a quaint concept) and enjoyed it, but I wouldn't watch it again. The same applies to Hill Street Blues, Cheers, Friends and many other shows.
Most TV shows are things of a particular time, and they just don't resonate after a while.
And tastes vary, of course. I spotted Gilligan's Island on Amazon Prime recently, and tried watching it with my tween daughter. She thought it was very funny, but I found it excruciating to watch because I've never been a fan of physical comedy and found the whole thing highly contrived and completely predictable.
