It still runs most things, too. The only thing I've found thus far that it can't run is Steel Bank Common Lisp, but that is a specific error based on the fact that some of the contents in two dll files were swapped around from Windows 7 to 10. Other than that, I've had no issues with any software. I see no reason to "upgrade" in the slightest.
Windows 7 is also easily the most customizable of the Microsoft x64 os's. From my experience, it is impossible to make Windows 10 look the way my Windows 7 does (or anything even close, in fact), though I am unsure about the customizability of 11.

I love Windows 7 as well! I hated when they changed everything to a tablet-style layout with Windows 8.

I'd have to install Start11 if I used Windows 11, I use Linux now though.

Eh i had a laptop that I gave to my sister and it was updated to windows 11 because I wanted to check what it was gonna be like. I regret it immediately when I couldn't change back to windows 10. Now I have another laptop and it's not windows 11 compatible but I'm happy about that.

My computer's charging port conked out, so I bought a new one, but the new one came with 11 pre-installed. A few things I don't like:
- Notepad. It's slow, it's black (because it now takes on the desktop theme), it's just not good.
- Right-click menu is screwed. Were you using a lot of context-actions, like 7-Zip? Well, it's still there but you have to click an extra time to get to the old right-click menu. It's a straight downgrade, just because they wanted the UI to look more like a phone.
- Start menu shows less than in Windows 10, because Widgets have been moved into a separate window, and you have to click an extra time to get your full list of applications.
- There's a weirdly-thick default font being used everywhere, and it's annoying to look at.And that's just from casually booting it up. Who knows what problems I'll have down the line. Hopefully you also don't get a computer like mine, which had the desktop directly attached to, and INSIDE OF, Onedrive from the get-go. Took me hours to fix that crap.

My rule is to wait at least 1 year, and preferably 2 years after the introduction of a major software change like Windows 11.
It takes at least a year to work out the worst bugs, and another year to work out many of the minor bugs.

I accidentally updated to Windows 11. There's not really a noticeable difference that I've seen. It just feels like a better looking Windows 10.

Windows updates are usually shit... so I'm staying with 10 till im forced to switch
